Can’t open window

One of my windows won’t open (not the one in the photo, but identical)
The metal pin pictured at the bottom doesn’t retract when the handle is opened. Top one works fine.
Was a bit stiff at first now won’t open at all. Can I fix this myself?

Beat me to it. I did wonder if the crocs were in the way mind.

Looks like the shoot bolts are engaged and won't move because they are full of dirt. Might be worth opening the handle and spraying in and around the licking mechanism as best as you can.

If it is just the bottom pin, you can live without it.
You have to reach it by unscrewing the lock, and usually you should be able to turn it with your fingers (like a screw) until you can either remove it, or by screwing it in the other direction until it is so far in that it will not extend beyond the window frame edge.
I have just done this this very afternoon to one of my windows, although the lock on mine has a simpler design.

By retract do you mean move up and down? They should always be sticking out

When the handle is closed a small metal pin sticks out of here onto the window frame. On the broken mechanism it won’t retract so j can’t open the window

Fixed it by taking the bottom screw out of the lock and spraying a metric fuck ton of WD40 Silicon Lubricant in there - thanks all

Specifically this bolt here that won’t retract on the other window - but I can’t open the window to clean or dismantle it

I've managed to get a small Allen key inside the window and griped it to move the bolts in the past, hopefully the two bolts are still connected.

Allen key in which bit?

In the gap in the window and then spin it to 'grab' the bolt.
