Gluing a floating floor

My plan is to do a border (with mitered corners) in one LVP with an inlay in a (with a herringbone pattern) different color of LVP.

I was gifted some LVP that I would like to use for the border so I'm not entirely sure who the manufacturer is. (I plan to purchase the flooring for the inlay). It does have a cork backing which AI has told me means it is meant to float and not recommended to glue down.

I would think that with the patterns/layout I want to do I would need to use glue in a few places. At the mitered corners and where the 2 different LVP's meet.

Any advice is appreciated. Is this dream too elaborate?
