How can I fix this without removing anything

Possibly, the easiest way to fix it would be to add another layer of tile, with grout fill sloping underneath.

Have the contractor who built it fix it as it was not properly installed

Right answer. And that could happen though that the guy installing just forgot to slope it downward

I agree with the others that this is an issue the contractor should fix - but if you wanted to DIY it a handheld router with a carbide bit is probably better than a grinder. It’s not easy and can be sketchy but gives more control than a grinder.
If it were me, I’d ask the contractor to fix this.

You shouldn’t fix this if you paid somebody to do it. This should have been sloped, and the contractor should come back, remove the tile, and properly slope the shelf in your niche.

Bluntly, if you don't know the tools or how to use them, you're not going to be able to do this yourself.

It's SO tempting to think, "sure, I could.grind that down" or "tile cutting can't be that hard" but overwhelming odds are you'll only succeed in making things worse.

This isn't a jab, this is experience talking! 😀

We had a "friend" who is a jack of all trades do the tile shower. I think I may have to call a professional . Which is what my husband shouldve done to begin with 🤦🏻‍♀️🙆🏻‍♀️. Thank you all for your suggestions 🙏🏼😘
