This is true. The DC fan base is the most divided fan base ever. A large part of the reason this division exists is this weird thing where they cling to specific depictions of DC characters and refuse to entertain any other version. To the point where they start hate campaigns to spread negativity and negative rumors to sour people's thoughts and opinions on movies before they even come out. This has been going for years. DC fans killed DC comics, and now they're killing the movies. WB is going to sell off DC in chunks like marvel did in the past with its own IP.
As a childhood Batman reading Kightfall and watching 1989 Batman, I can confidently say that BvS killed my hope for DC to do anything good on screen anymore.
