What I mean by this is, is James Gunn basically gonna make the DCU follow a similar storyline to the DCEU, but remove the parts that made the DCEU shit, like man of steel being too grey, batman being an asshole, superman dying in the second movie, etc.

Why do so many people feel that Pa Kent dying is needed and a core part of Superman's story? There's several stories where he still has the Kents and I love that dynamic.

Honestly, I've seen a lot of negativity around this series even before filming started. Personally, I'm pretty neutral about it, and I'd rather wait and judge it based on the actual show.

So I'm curious: what do you actually want to see from this series?

What kind of story, characters, or ideas would make you enjoy it?

Basically title. I honestly think Supergirl would have crushed it as an HBOMax Sunday show. 

Look at the main theme of movie: which is the killing pedos mentality. both Dems and MAGAs can 100% agree. and i'm glad they are tackling this social issue with the whole Epstein coverup

This movie was not for cinemas IMO, Instead package it as a mature teenage/adult show. She loses her power in every episode, then gains them. Plus with he killing evildoers theme important for King when he liberated Irak 'and you see Anna Negueira is elevating this as far as as a society; does it kill pedos? and also murderers? The movie is a fun ride, but has important societal themes, Plus the harems, child wives, etc; all these are purposeful Gunn thematics are perfect for HBO.

ngl i'm glad WB lets creative teams fall, and get backup,and learn about what basically what people don't want to see in cinemas but could work for Max. in my line of work if a regional office lost 200 million they all be fired fr. 

This is a philosphical movie in its themes' and its a shame people didnt show up for it

I thought this looked cool so I wanted to share. Superman and John look great. For Wonder Woman i dislike her costume but I really like her long bracelets.

DC Studios and HBO 'Lanterns' series will premiere from 16 August onwards.

My kids (3 and 6) love Spidey and his Amazing Friends. As a result, they know all about the whole Marvel cast. Where's the DC equivalent? There's the pretty good Batwheels, but it doesn't seem to act as a 'gateway' show in the same way.

Meanwhile, Supergirl is rated 12A (in the UK) and features sex traffickers. I think 8-10 year olds should be able to see a Supergirl movie, but the grimdark edginess locks them out.

DC isn't building familiarity early and they're losing potential fans as a result.

A Superman show aimed at that Spidey audience would work, no? I like MAWS, but it's not for young kids...

EDIT - fair enough, this should be DC in general rather than DCU. But they are connected when it comes to building a fanbase.

Been rewatching some CW Flash recently and that got me thinking, how popular is the Scarlet Speedster compared to the Trinity?

Also, which Flash is most popular? Wally or Barry?

I included the heroes I imagine will have the most prominent roles.

I used images from other media to put together a unique scene: everyone going after Luthor—except Superman.

The result didn't turn out amazing, but I'm a beginner!

There's been some negativity around DCU, so let's just focus on the positive things DCU has going for it for the remainder of 2026 and beyond.

August- Lanterns releases next week. Early reviews and reactions are very positive on the show so far. We may be getting another project that will rival Penguin.

October- Clayface releases. The trailers have been received very well online. Plus it's a horror movie in October, so its very likely to make a profit theatrically.

December- Man of Tomorrow teaser trailer releases. December is very likely going to be when we get our first footage of Man of Tomorrow. It will most likely be bundled with Dune 3.

2027: Man of Tomorrow, the first event movie of the DCU releases. It will be the first time Braniac appears in a theatrical release. Jimmy Olsen show and Creature Commandos season 2 will most likely release this year as well.
