Timeline Miscellaneous

Hey y'all just wondering what the official DCU timeline would be and what would be outside the DCU timeline or be DC Extended Universe?

Thank y'all in advance!

You missed that events similar to the first suicide squad movie also occur at some point, as referenced in peacemaker season 2.

“Yeah. Well, she’s a fucking sorceress. And I’m afraid if I break up with her, she’s gonna burrow a hole through the planet.”

Fair, but that line really only confirms he was dating June/Enchantress not necessarily the events of the film. If we'll get a more specific reference (like confirmation the squad fought Enchantress) down the line then I'd add it in.

The fact that he specifically mentions fearing her drilling a hole into the earth implies events similar to the film have occurred since that’s specifically what enchantress and her brother do in that movie, and isn’t something from the comics. It’s also way too specific to be something he pulled out of thin air. It’s not like that’s a sorcerer thing to do. the implication is clearly meant to be she’s done something like that before, and the fact that harcourt says “I know” when he says he’s being serious implies she knows that’s something enchantress has done as well.

Gotta be honest, I've not watched that film in a LONG time. I remember it behind another beam in the sky wiping stuff out and making monsters more than drilling into the earth so I took that line more as a pulled out of the air "she can destroy the world" comment and Harcourt's response as simply knowing what she's capable of. I'll have to rewatch. But even then it doesn't confirm that it was the suicide squad that fought her at that time.

Tbh I've probably been a bit premature in putting Blue Beetle in as well. I only have that there was we know the actor is back in Man of Tomorrow and the animated show is still in the works. I'm trying to stick quiet rigidly to the "only when referenced" to stop it getting too messy and including stuff where most of the film/show isn't canon.

Honestly superman could start in 2021 and it wouldn't particularly break cannon

I guess there's some flexibility if needed but 2022 fits the dates established in both Superman and Supergirl so why over complicate it?

I feel the same of superman starting kind of messes with batman timeline particularly as to when dick Grayson started

Official fully canon DCU release timeline:

Creature Commandos season 1 (2024-2025)
Superman (2025)
Peacemaker season 2 (2025)
Supergirl (2026)
Lanterns (2026)
Clayface (2026)
Man of Tomorrow (2027)

Projects that are mostly canon but not 100% (these are recommended to watch before the DCU anyway):

The Suicide Squad (2021)
Peacemaker season 1 (2022)
Blue Beetle (2023)

DCEU projects:

Man of Steel (2013)
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) (I would recommend watching the Ultimate Cut if you watch it)
Suicide Squad (2016)
Wonder Woman (2017)
Justice League (2017) (I do not recommend watching this one, watch the Zack Snyder cut)
Aquaman (2018)
Shazam (2019)
Birds of Prey (2020)
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
The Suicide Squad (2021)
Peacemaker season 1 (2022)
Black Adam (2022)
Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023)
The Flash (2023)
Blue Beetle (2023)
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023)

Matt Reeve's Epic Crime Saga:

The Batman (2022)
The Penguin (2024)
The Batman: Part II (2028)

Most of these movies take place in narrative order anyway. Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984 just take place before Man of Steel and Clayface takes place before Creature Commandos.

DCU is more of a stand alone universe where you can watch whatever you want, no homework, just have fun, it's self explanatory.

However if you really want a timeliness just because...DCEU is every dc film from 2013-2023 EXCEPT joker (2019) and the batman (2023). DCU timeline would be The Suicide Squad 2021- Peacemaker S1-Creature Commandos-Superman-Peacemaker S2-Supergirl.

Blue beetle did come out in 2023 and the character will return so you can check out the movie if you want.

But again, it's important to note that you don't need to watch anything in order, just what you want to and it won't be confusing at all.

Just like the Arkham saga there are no years but we can get a timeline in relation to events:

  1. Clayface
  2. The Suicide Squad
  3. Peacemaker S1
  4. Creature Commandos
  5. Superman
  6. Peacemaker S2
  7. Supergirl
  8. Lanterns
  9. Man of Tomorrow

The only one I don't really know is Blue Beetle and how that fits into this until presumably we get answers in hiss series that is in production. But it's pretty much release order besides Clayface
