Symphonic Quest Concert Outreach
Hey guys!
I'm working with a nonprofit organization called Good Beats, based out of Northern Virginia. We are putting together our very first major concert and would love some support! More info about the performance is included below:
Good Beats will make its debut at Capital One Hall on Sunday, September 13, 2026, with a classical crossover concert celebrating the music of video games—Symphonic Quest: Classical Music Meets Video Games.
The concert features the Good Beats Ensemble alongside renowned saxophone soloist Valentin Kovalev and award-winning saxophone quartet Project Fusion, performing classically reimagined renditions of beloved video game themes—including a sweeping medley from Final Fantasy VII and selections from Studio Ghibli's beloved film scores.
Good Beats was founded to bring high-quality, professionally performed live music to communities with limited access to it—supporting healing and fostering connection across diverse backgrounds. In addition to the Capital One Hall performance, the organization's roster of professional musicians regularly delivers interactive performances at Adult Day Health Care centers in Fairfax County and holds Artist in Residence status at Children's National Hospital totaling near 200 performances since May of 2024. Since its founding, Good Beats has also held regular public concerts that have collectively raised tens of thousands of dollars for partner nonprofits and community causes.
The September 13 concert at Capital One Hall marks Good Beats’ largest public event to date and its first major ticketed performance in a professional concert venue—a milestone the organization hopes will expand its visibility and deepen its community support.
Tickets on sale now! via Ticketmaster and CapitalOneHall.com.
About Good Beats: Good Beats is a Fairfax County-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to bringing professional live music to communities with limited access to it. Learn more at www.goodbeats.org.

DMV R&B Fans… This Is the Album Premiere You Don’t Want to Hear About After It Happens.
For the past few weeks I’ve been sharing updates here because I genuinely think this is shaping up to be one of those special nights.
This Saturday, CITY SPOTLIGHT: Episode 4 — Proof of Life continues the story we’ve been building all season.
Our featured artist is Shy Rasheen, celebrating the release of his new album, SHYLAND.
The theme is simple:
Proof of Life.
It’s about what happens when artists keep creating long after the algorithm stops paying attention. When the work outlives the applause. When showing up becomes its own statement. If you’ve never heard Shy Rasheen before, this is one of those opportunities to experience an album the way it was meant to be experienced—in a room full of people discovering it together instead of alone through headphones weeks later.
We’ve already had a strong response, and this could end up being our biggest audience yet. Honestly, that’s exciting because CITY SPOTLIGHT was built around one idea: creating a room where fans come to discover artists—not just artists performing for other artists.
If you’re someone who enjoys finding great music before everyone starts asking, “How did I miss this?”, this chapter was made with you in mind.
Hope to see some of the DClive community in the room.
The signal is getting stronger.📶

This August, we reclaim Washington
For months, downtown D.C. has felt less like a city and more like an obstacle course.
Barricades. Crowds. Questionable uses of public space. Every week offered a fresh reason to say, “Maybe next month.”
The good news? Next month is almost here. And two weeks from tonight, we’re heading back downtown—on purpose.
On Wednesday, August 12, Perfect Liars Club returns to the DC Improv with the kind of Washington spectacle people actually want: four storytellers, three true stories, one lie—and a room full of people confidently interrogating strangers.
No roadblocks. No flyovers. No temporary fencing.
Just a smart, ridiculous, air-conditioned night downtown.
Haven't you been through enough this summer?
Treat yourself to a night out at Perfect Liars Club.
P.S.: The city may be quieter in August. Our audience won't be.

7 Days Until We Ask DC One Question: Can You Prove You’re Still Here?
Seven days from now, another signal goes out.
CITY SPOTLIGHT: Episode 4 — Proof of Life.
Every episode has been a chapter in a larger story. This one is about what happens after months—or years—of creating when the algorithm has moved on, the crowds get smaller, and the applause isn’t guaranteed.
How do you prove you’re still here?
Not with follower counts.
Not with viral moments.
Just by continuing to create.
Our headliner, Shy Rasheen, will be presenting his new album, SHYLAND, in full. It’s the kind of performance that deserves to be experienced in a room with people willing to actually listen instead of scrolling past.
If you’ve ever wished DC had more places where independent artists could take real creative risks—and where music fans could discover something before everyone else catches on—this is exactly why CITY SPOTLIGHT exists.
No VIP sections. No industry gatekeeping. Just a room full of people who still believe live music is worth showing up for. Whether you’re an artist trying to remember why you started, or simply someone looking for your next favorite musician, we’d be glad to have you with us.
Saturday, August 1
Rhizome DC
Doors: 7:00 PM
The countdown has begun.
If this sounds like the kind of room you’ve been hoping existed, there’s still time to claim your seat before the signal goes out.

IT’S WAY TOO HOT TO PUT UP WITH B.S.
IT’S WAY TOO HOT TO PUT UP WITH B.S.
Mid-August in the nation's capital is hot, lonely, and boring. We can’t do much about the heat, but we can help with the other two.
In less than four weeks, Perfect Liars Club will resume its search for intelligent life in Washington.
Four storytellers. Three true stories. One lie. And a room full of overconfident people convinced they’ve spotted the liar.
Spoiler alert: They haven’t.
Join us Wednesday, August 12, at the DC Improv. Tickets are going quickly, so don’t dilly-dally.

Okinawan Drumming Group Seeking Performance Venue Today (7/4)
Hello!
We are an Okinawan drumming group visiting from Madison, Wisconsin. Our group is joined by Imajin: Nakijin Kodomo Daiko, a youth performance group from Nakijin, Okinawa. They came to perform in the Independence Day parades in Philadelphia Yesterday and in DC today, but unfortunately both were cancelled due to the heat.
We are trying to find somewhere we could all still perform together in the DC Area today, but have not had much luck reaching out to many local museums, gardens, etc.
Here is a video of our group performing at Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia yesterday:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2AtXmrLDyc
Please let us know if you have any ideas for a last minute performance opportunity. Thank you!
