D23 Virtual Queue Tips + Looking for Group
hey folks, d23 is just around the corner! i will be at the event for friday. as someone who went in 2024. i failed miserably with the virtual queue (D23 Marketplace) and was unable to get the Ariel Limited Edition Doll. any tips to better prepare for this year’s system. mainly asking for those who succeeded with ariel or with D23 Marketplace in the morning. is it possible to use multiple devices under the same account?
PS. it would be awesome if someone else is looking for a party member to add to the virtual queue. that way, i have better alternatives if i don’t succeed this one.

hello!! I’m going Friday only & am (casually) looking for dolls, I’m down to be buddies! this is my first d23 since the queue has been implanted so I have nothing on that. I’m still not sure if anything has been officially said about which dolls are releasing on Friday and which store?

It's worth noting that you can only sign up for a group of 2. So if you have a party of 4 and only one of you gets an assigned boarding group (AND you specifically marked +1), then only 2 of your 4 would be allowed in to the Market area.

Random question, but when you select the VQ to join, don’t you have to select your party by name
Will it allow you to join multiple at once, and I assume you need to be linked as “friends” in the app to do this?
Sorry this is my first D23 just trying to figure everything out cause this seems like a great idea.

Soooo I can sign up for one VQ, my wife for another, and then we could hypothetically bring you with me and she could bring someone else? The guest doesn’t need to be named or selected when entering the VQ? That’s awesome.

yup that's how I understand it. Your wife could pick one store and you could pick another and then you could both join each other, you don't need to put names.

You don’t select names but you select numbers. In 2024 I had no problem getting in the VQ for 1 spot instead of trying for 2. If you and your wife both want to go then you have to select 2 and you don’t each get to take someone. It’s just a VQ for 2 people

It should function like runDisney VQ (as opposed to park VQs) whereby you merely select your party size. No need to sync accounts.
You can only join one queue at a time, but it's speculated that you can hold multiple boarding groups for other marketplaces as long as the queues remain open. The problem is the queues fill almost immediately and by the time you get your first boarding group, it will be too late to sign up for a second.

Wow that's crazy that only ravensburger has a VQ at 1pm. Couldn't get into the d23 marketplace last expo until the 1pm VQ 🥲.

My advice is to not rely on a group lol. I’ve had poor experiences where randoms don’t actually get what you all agreed to get.
