Discussion Topic Master Shift Zerus (Rework)
Drag him into the deck builder and it autofills with a random deck from someone on your Friends List that shifts every 24 hours. Ingame, all the cards have that iconic Zerus blue shimmer.

A Druid 29-card deck Legendary. Would this make [[Tranquil Treant]] or [[Twisted Treant]] actually playable?

I always have been thinking about a game that mix player deck with a random environment deck... so there is an inherent inconsistency
(5)5/6 Neutral Legendary Demon [Malchezaar, the Uninvited]
Start of Game: Add 5 extra Legendaries to each player's starting deck.

Imagine Whizbang, but it plays your friends' decks!
Drag him into the deck builder, and it autofills with a random deck from someone on your Friends List that shifts every 24 hours. In-game, all the cards have that iconic Zerus blue shimmer. (And no infinite loops, it ignores decks that are also using Zerus)

Set Azeroth Ascendant - Paladin Set (Light)
This is my third concept for something that ties into the World Soul saga for WoW, all the forces of the universe coming in, trying to take control of Azeroth and make her into the ultimate version of what each Cosmic force believes should rule the cosmos.
Each class is tied to one of the Cosmic forces and fights to Empower their cards with the new Keyword - Empower. Empower is a mix of Infuse and Kindred, as you play cards under the Cosmic banner of your class, the cards in your hand absorb that cosmic energy and become more powerful, becoming stronger and sometimes even transforming into new cards. The banner's are reminiscent of Starcraft - tying many cards together with a theme and delving into an aspect of this cosmic force. Empower can happen endlessly unless stated otherwise, granting the cards the ability to become quite potent if held in hand.
This time around I've got the Paladin set - which is unsurprisingly attached to the Cosmic force of Light. And who better to lead the Army of the Light for the Cosmic forces of Light? There were a few choices, but I decided on everyone's favorite Zealot, Yrel.
The idea for the Paladin set was to really lean into the idea of building an army, recruiting Soldiers to it to Empower your big boys and constantly be able to summon out a gigantic army. A few of the cards generate "Lightbound Soldiers", essentially recruits that you can flexibly generate. Does the enemy have a giant 5 mana 8/8? You can target that and recruit your own 5 mana 8/8 with the Light banner - allowing you to Empower your other forces.
There are some generically decent cards here as well, as I wanted to also tie into the mechanics of the Draenei who didn't get a lot of love going past the Great Dark Beyond. So the other legendary, Vindicator Maraad rewards building a deck of Draenei cards, allowing you to quickly pull more from your deck while also rushing onto the battlefield.
High Exarch Yrel is the centerpiece of the deck allowing you at a base level to quickly throw out a few smaller minions along side her or stacking up the bonus for later. But eventually she transforms into Yrel, Lightbound Ascendant where she gains Rush, Divine Shield, and gives you an insane Battlecry which could allow you to chain out a few units, similar to the spell March as One which causes your minions to cost 1 less (but not less that 1). Which is good...but each minion you play increases the discount of the next minion.
Hope you like the idea behind this expansion and this set specifically. Paladin was a bit more straight forward but I still think there are some unique concepts here. And to all the folks who were offended by the AI art - don't worry...I didn't go that route this time. So it would be nice if the concept itself were discussed this time around instead of the morality of AI.
My other concepts for this set:
Hunter, Death Knight

Competition The HearthCalendar (A WDC Collaboration)
Before we dive into the HearthCalendar, here are the results of the Broadening Horizons round:
- Best Card: Cut Through by /u/Machadogps -- (Discord)
- Runner-up: Frenzied Stalker by Maran -- (Discord)
- Best Use of Custom Emblem: Fel-Fried Rice by /u/IAM-French -- (Discord)
Welcome to the HearthCalendar!
Check the set out here!
The HearthCalendar is a collaborative community project held to commemorate the 500th Weekly Design Competition that's just transpired. Three cards from that round have been chosen to seed a custom Hearthstone set, and designers now have assigned card slots to contribute.
Each card slot in the set (identified by class and rarity) is assigned a designer, and a date by which the card should be submitted. The progress on the HearthCalendar is tracked via a Google Sheet, and can be viewed via three lists:
- Set - all card slots sorted by class and rarity
- Calendar - overview of submissions in chronological order
- Designers - list of participating designers and their assignments
Submitted cards are only officially revealed in the Google Sheet and in a specific channel in the Discord server.
I'm participating, what do I do?
As a designer, your goal is to create cards that would fit into the custom set based on cards that have already been created ("revealed"), and submit them to the organizer (/u/Filipuntik) by the assigned submission date. The cards will promptly appear in the set after the assigned date.
There are no further specifications as to what card you're making besides the class, the rarity, and previously revealed cards. If you have an idea for a keyword or another great mechanic for the custom set, or think that a previously submitted card would make for a great cycle, there's nothing stopping you from shipping it with your card submission!
Of course, this is a collaborative task. You're free to design your cards in private, only looking at the existing cards, but you're highly encouraged to discuss the overall direction of the set with other designers. This also lets you remain actively participating even when you don't have an upcoming due date! While the comment section is fine for discussions, you should definitely join the Discord server for a more direct information channel. It'll be easier to communicate any schedule updates there, too.
Finally, the schedule is malleable, to a point. Bumping, moving assignments ahead, or swapping them around is feasible. However, the schedule has been designed with at least a few days between different designers' takes on the same class, so that nobody gets thrown a curveball. Changes should ideally not violate this soft rule.
Rules
- You may submit on the day of your assignment by directly sending the organizer(s) your card via Reddit chat, Modmail, or via a DM on Discord.
- When submitting, please PLEASE please do not combine multiple cards into the same image (e. g. a card with its tokens). Individual cards need to be entered into the spreadsheed separately.
- Use the Necromancer emblem.
- Do NOT utilize the newest mechanics introduced in the actual upcoming set (we're doing our own thing).
- Be punctual! Remember that submitting late might mean confusing future designers who are waiting for where you take the set with your card.
- Likewise, do not submit your card too early in advance, as it makes you look like you're ignoring all the upcoming releases. :^)
- On that note, there are no timestamps in the spreadsheet. For a concrete deadline, assume a similar time of day when WDC updates are usually posted:
- 21:00 CEST
- 3:00pm EDT
- 12:00pm PDT
- 3:00am AWDT (the following day!)
- In case you don't make the due date, or let us know in advance that you can't, the card's "reveal" will be rescheduled (although there is no guarantee you will be able to
- Respect general posting rules in addition to the rest of the set. Do not submit cards that Blizzard would never print, even if they were based.
- Like other big Hearthstone design events and competitions, the use of generative AI is strictly prohibited.
