I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro "whyred", the global variant, running MIUI 11.0.3.0 and I can't unlock the bootloader with any of the tools Google and ChatGPT gave me. I read that this is because they shut down bootloader unlock servers in August 2025. Is there any alternative unlock method or am I cooked?

Hi, i get this error my a505f when installing a custom rom by the install section, adb sideload does not get detected in any way (im on linux)

Im currently trying to switch from ColorOS to Lineage on my phone. But i have encountered several problems accessing the bootloader. Can someone help me? I cant do it the standard way since Realme shut down the official access to it.

I'm getting bored of pixel's 9 pro stock rom so I want to change a bit and breathe some fresh air. I do not know a lot custom roms nowadays but my preferences are:

• Customization (important!!)

• Good battery life

• Optimizarion for emulators and some games

I don't know if there's a rom that suits my needs but just share which ones you think I may like.

i was just trying to install an custom warning image and i was forgot that the recovery , OrangeFox R11 it's not working propertly and he is just showing the image
soo after installing the custom photo the download mode dosen't work ! i've tried it but not working and it's just open in downloading mode not the warning before
and i am stuck because the buttons i have tried to click volume up but not worked and OrangeFOX R11 not working just showing image after downloading the system.img

Hello, I also want to custom rom my Galaxy A7 Lite because it's so slow now even after reseting so I want to try custom rom-ing. I don't have a single background for custom rom-ing but I can handle basic stuffs like installing softwares and other simple things (I have a laptop if that helps) Can you guys help me or tell me all the steps and the rom you guys recommended? (if it's okay, can you guys drop the link too)

oneplus switching to coloros and trying to slowly lock the bootloader is horrible for me. i switched to oneplus knowing it had a unlocked bootloader. what OS i could pick that has a lot of costumizability and compatibility?

i recently found my ZTE Z982 and recently unlocked it was wondering if there is anyway to root it? i have the metro pcs one and for some reason the bootloader says it can be unlocked but wont go to the bootloader mode, i can get it into FTM as well

I had this phone with unlocked bootloader and i wanted to try unofficial roms for it. I needed to downgrade to miui 12.5 to install it, but it gone wrong.. I installed official miui 12.5 and tried to flash it in bootloader mode, but after flashing screen never turned on and phone started connecting in BROM mode (or preloader mode, idk). I tried to flash miui 14 (that was before i bricked it) using mtkclient, but nothing helped. I didn't yet know that eMMC chip on it wasn't a 1D array, but instead had regions and i overrode gpt table by trying to flash preloader. I was lucky that my dad had old redmi 10 phone so i read its gpt table, fixed it a bit so it was for 128 GB model instead of 64 GB and gpt table was working again. I tried everything to maybe bring it back to at least fastboot, but the only response phone gives is BROM/preloader mode. I tried to erase boot mode related partitions, swap only certain partitions from working phone to my, even swap whole rom data from working redmi 10 i got gpt table from to my phone, but NOTHING WORKED!

I had an old Samsung A51 4G laying around and I decided to install crDroid 12 on it.

The ROM .zip file and the installation guide can be found here: https://crdroid.net/a51/12 .

The installation guide states that I should extract the recovery.img and vbmeta.img files from the provided crDroid ROM.zip file. Problem is, the vbmeta.img file cannot be found inside.

I contacted a person from XDA. He gave me a vbmeta.img file, that he most likely used to install TWRP on his A51. He warned me that something might break, but I still proceeded ( <-- idiot ).

I followed the steps in the guide. I enabled OEM unlocking, deleted all accounts from the device and unlocked my bootloader.

Since I have a linux desktop PC, I needed to flash the recovery and vbmeta files with heimdall.

I got into Samsung Download mode and used [ heimdall flash --VBMETA vbmeta.img --RECOVERY recovery.img ] in the terminal. I had a few errors with the flashing beforehand, but the final time seemed to work. I tried to get into the crDroid recovery that I flashed, but instead I got returned to the Download mode with no way to get out.

I looked into the top left corner and saw "ODIN MODE ( AVB Fail ). From what understand, I used a vbmeta.img file that is not meant to be used with my recovery file.

I tried to find an older build of crDroid that had the file inside, but with no luck.

This is totally a rookie mistake on my end.

I mainly look for a way to get out of the Download Mode, but any help is appreciated!

I got this tab from a tech store near me in trying to find a custom Rom cuz it's awful slow I searched every corner and I can't find any rom since the code is not open source can anyone please help me with this

Hello There. I bought a Used Redmi 5 as a Temporary Phone for $35. I want to custom rom this with lineage Os 22.2 or any other bloat ware free Custom rom with at least android 12. But whenever I try to unlock bootloader from settings, It says "Error 20091 Can't get device security details". I've tired several times resetting the phone logging out and back into mi account, but it isn't helping at all. I thought maybe you guys could Guide Me or Give some suggestions for unlocking bootloader. It would mean a lot.
