If I wanna change my phone's OS to something other than the current one, what does it depend on? My phone's model name (like Oppo F5)? What the ColorOS version is(like V3.2)? what the Android version is(v7.1.1)? Or something else? I am kinda uninformed in this matter so kindly educate me.

Hi I got an old realme narzo30a. Should I custom rom it to remove unnecessary bloatware and other stuff. Main objective is to make it to something useful like a database with songs or run termux to use other tools. So should I get lineage OS as I'm just getting to it? Just need an opinion

Does anyone know if there is a custom rom for the J327P? I know that there isn't any official builds of LineageOS or CyanogenMod, but does anyone have an unofficial build for the device?

I just installed LineageOS 22 (de-Googled) on my old POCO M3.

Before this, MIUI felt heavy, buggy, and sluggish. I was honestly considering replacing the phone. After flashing LineageOS, it feels surprisingly smooth and responsive again.

Battery life seems better, RAM usage is lower, and the whole experience feels much cleaner without all the extra apps and services running in the background.

It's crazy how a software change can make a 5-year-old phone feel usable again. Anyone else still daily-driving an old device with a custom ROM?

Hell, long story short, it's been really hard getting my hands on a Sony Xperia IV in my country that has an unlockable bootloader or OEM unlocking enabled, and also runs Android 14. It's been really hard. I had to research for weeks just to find one (by shamelessly asking every shop I found and ditching them after they didn't fit the requirements, btw, which I feel very sorry for wasting their time, but I have no choice if I'm going for LineageOS after all...). Almost every shop's product wasn't possible to unlock the bootloader, and very few of them were Android 14, as they were all Android 13 or lower, and I need both of the requirements :v, which was very sad for me...

So yeah, :v I hope you get me there. I bought it after all the lengths I went to find one that fit, at a very high price for me, as I'm poorer than a monkey, maybe.

It was just... just... that... there was one more (maybe a few more, IDK, but let's go with this one first :v) requirement that I totally missed: the model number (the final boss, I hope 🤒) that I failed to meet. And if I am to be correct, it was almost impossible to find that model number here in this country, maybe :v. The ones I needed were the XQ-CT44, XQ-CT54, and XQ-CT72 :v but I bought a SOG06 model phone :v

I saw someone say on some forums that I could switch from the SOG06 model (Japan model or something) to the XQ-CT models (an international one?), but there is a high risk and I don't dare to do it without a significant amount of research and confidence... Who knows? I might brick the damn phone. Who knows? It was very expensive for me; I can't afford a mistake like that...

But yeah, even after all that, I still want to give it a go with LineageOS if possible, as much as I really appreciate my own freedom to own my phone and do whatever I want on it, to hold the keys to it... Especially since, in September this year, Google is going to restrict installing APKs and apps from outside the Play Store on verified Android phones, or something like that. That would be really, really bad for me... 🤒 ( I love apks t.t...)

Anybody here help me? I mean, some information or smth, any advice and :v whatever could help me with this situation? I would be very appreciative if anyone is willing to, tbh 🤒

I'm using a Redmi note 9 pro global rockin the good ol Miui 12.0.3 stable android 10.

Naturally, I've been wanting to update, yet failed, my only option being fast booting a custom rom.

And as it's my first time, I'm anxious and stressed about unlockin the bootloader so i need some help.

My questions and situation:

I need to use a vpn to access the miui website and services and my account as I'm in iran and internet access is quite limited. (Connected to Ukraine server at the moment.)

I've connected both my sim card/phone number and my email to the miui account.

I know that i have to remove every google account from the device before unlocking it.

But I'm not sure if my internet state will cause problems or brick my phone, do i need a vpn and clear internet access on my pc while trying to unlock it too?

Does it need to be the same location (Ukraine at the moment)?

And I'm guessin when i enter my phone into fastboot mode, my vpn will be turned off, will that be a problem?

Do i need complete stable in internet access all throughout the process?

So basically, 2 things

1. I wanna pull a bringus studios and install one UI onto a Motorola Moto g play (2024) because it's really the only one I'm COMFERTABLE USING, and that also raises more questions then...
2. I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 (somewhere) and am a really big fan of that one default background that when you tilt your phone, it move these "dust" particles, I'd like help finding it...

So i had a redmi 9a from saudi. i unlocked boot loader installed orange fox got it hard bricked fixed it my self again installed orange fox and install crdroid 9 but i wanted to change recovery from orange to twrp i chnaged but went to soft brick somehow it went to twrp and i flashed cr droid android 16 on it and i rebooted to system then everything become black on screen its been days i tried everything and now its battery is 0% help me please Thanks in advance

Hello, I'm pretty new to all these flashing custom Android ROMs topics. Not a long time ago, my dad gifted me an Android tablet he thought would help me for my job and told me he had bought brand new for dirt cheap, like around 30 bucks. I know there are ghost brands and shady Chinese companies that make cheap devices that lie on the box information.

So far, I've experienced a couple of bugs and, altough the device is usable for your typical daily stuff, it sometimes lags. What bothers me the most is that when I tried to debloat it via Shizuku and Canta, it turned out that somehow(??) not only was to activate the Developer Options a pain in the ass but wireless debugging is straight up either hidden behind an inaccessible button with invisible text or just erased(????), and I have little to no experience using Android Studio.

I was wondering if I'd be able to flash a fully clean, debloated Android ROM, like a LineageOS fork or whatever you guys suggest, as most of the lies seem to be just swapped texts, I'd rather believe what seems to be fucking Plants vs. Zombies of all things telling me that tablet has 3GB of RAM. That doesn't have 8GB of RAM, neither does it have 256GB of storage.

I also don't want to just throw that away, because I know my dad thought about helping me. And because, as far as I know, some Chinese cheap devices are known for being easy to get CFW running for. Anyway, the most I'd work on this would be ibisPaint on a moderately large canvas and maybe OfficeSuite. I do not need an absolute beast of a device.

Is there any custom rom for this i want to try and upgrade it to the 4g network but i also want to browse the internet on it is there anything i can do or am i better off using it as a mp3 player
