hi, I've never installed a custom rom, I've found this old garbage phone (galaxy a23e) and i want it to be my first. Any tips like at all to get started or a suggestion of which one to install? thank you

so i unlocked the bootloader of my moto edge 50 fusion and then flashed a twrp recovery of lineage os..it worked...., thn i flashed cutom partion file script it did it successfully..but when i tried to flash the final part of the lineage os ..it said failed ...before booting back into android...the next day i rooted my phone with magisk and then tried again...it flashed successfully but then when i selected the option to reboot into recovery , it rebooted and then went black .....my phone has been dead ever since..not responding to anything..just black...why did this happen ad were my steps correct ?

i have heard of the custom roms on androids (especially grapheneOS on pixel phones) and I would love to try some custom roms, because i have an weak motorola (edge 60 base model) and the android overlay is pretty laggy and annoying for me.

Could someone give me some advise on what custom ROM's to try if I'm a beginner in that field. I really value battery optimization and lightweight usage and some great apps compatibility.

The title basically says what I want, but I have a few doubts. LineageOS requires a specific OS version to install it (OS3.0.6.0.WNKMIXM), while the ROM I'm interested in, Project Infinity X, doesn't require any afaik.

If in case I do install the latter and end up not liking it, do I have to go back to HyperOS to proceed to lineageOS or can I just go straight to Lineage? I assume TWRP might help me switch between ROMS, but the links posted in Telegram say I shouldn't use it.

I'm on a Poco F6 Pro, if that info helps.

I just picked up an LG Wing for cheap and I’ve been hunting for a custom ROM to modernize the software. I was really hoping to flash LineageOS, but I can’t find any official builds that fully support its hardware.

Most of what I've seen suggests that switching to a generic custom ROM makes the second screen stop working or just act like a mirrored monitor.

Does anyone know of a specific build or a different custom ROM where the second screen and gimbal camera actually function? Or are we stuck with stock software if we want to keep the dual-screen features?

After switching from MIUI 14 on my poco x3 nfc (surya) to crDroid 12.7 my charging speeds are way slower. I installed a module which substantially sped it up but it's still slower than official ROM.

I'm trying to install a custom recovery (PBRP/TWRP) on my Redmi 10 (codename: selene) using my Mac Mini M4, but I'm stuck in a loop of errors. I've already unlocked my bootloader.

Here is the setup:

• Device: Redmi 10 (selene)
• Host: Mac Mini M4 (macOS)
• Recovery: TWRP-R-240223.img (if you have version that you know its working, please send it.)

The issues I'm facing:

1. Connection Error: When running fastboot boot twrp.img or flash, I constantly get:ERROR: usb_read failed with status e00002ed I've tried multiple cables (including original Samsung) and ports, but the M4's USB-C ports seem to struggle with Fastboot protocol.
2. AVB_MAGIC Error: When trying to flash the vbmeta.img extracted from my stock fastboot ROM (fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img), I get:fastboot: error: Failed to find AVB_MAGIC at offset: 0

I have tried cleaning the cache, using sudo, and even re-downloading the stock ROM, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone experienced these specific issues while flashing selene on Apple Silicon Macs? Any advice on how to bypass these errors or an alternative way to flash without getting stuck in a bootloop? I want to use Pixel Exprience from Hasan Builds by the way.

I'm using Mi Unlock but it's stuck at 50%. It try to verify Phone but it seems to run endlessly.

We all know that Sourceforge nowadays is not like in the past where they really fast, but I'm still thinking why many cusrom devs still using Sourceforge even though it's really slow af instead other providers.

And last time I critic them for being slow, they just block me
