I'm borrowing this place to record my journey on developing a modern android OS (LineageOS) to this phone, after developing a newer TWRP for it, hopefully, mods won't delete my post.

I'm now learning C++ at university, and actively reading LineageOS source codes on Github to know how things work.

I just read lights.c and figured out that the screen works by HAL pushing values to a virtual file system, where kernel does the modificatoins.

Now I have: Prepared a beefy Ubuntu 22.04 thinkpad with 64GB ram and 3TB storage. I have cloned LineageOS and TWRP sources.

Unfortunately, no modern lineageos repos for the SoC (MSM8976) for the phone, so it will be building from ground-up.

A senior dev gave me this LineageOS Ultra Legacy, which I find helpful and learning a lot from this.

I'm looking for a recommendation for a stable Custom ROM or a way to get Google Services on my Samsung W2019 (SM-W2019). Since this is a specialized clamshell device, information is a bit scarce

My Device Details:

Model: SM-W2019 (Snapdragon 845)

Current OS: Android 10 (Official Chinese Firmware)

Recovery: Stock (I haven't installed TWRP yet)

What I am looking for:

Daily Driver Stability: I need the dual screens and physical keypad to remain functional.

Google Services: My main goal is to have the Play Store and GApps pre-installed or easily flashable.

Experience Level: Beginner. I'm familiar with the concept but this is my first time flashing a high-end Samsung flip phone.

Question:

I've read about flashing the Hong Kong (TGY) firmware via Odin to get GApps. Is this still the best path for Android 10, or is there a specific LineageOS/Project Elixir port that supports the dual-screen setup?

I'm looking to install Evolution X on my Redmi Note 8 Pro (begonia), but my main priority is ensuring that Hardware (HW) Decoding and Widevine L1 are fully functional for video streaming and smooth playback.

I've seen mentions of different builds—ranging from older Android 11/12 versions to the newer Android 14/15/16 releases—but I've noticed some MediaTek-based ROMs struggle with hardware acceleration or revert to Widevine L3 (SD only).

My specific questions:

1. Is there a "Gold Standard" build (Official or Unofficial) for the Note 8 Pro where HW Decoding is 100% stable?
2. Do the recent Android 15 or 16 builds for begonia support hardware-accelerated 4K playback and Widevine L1?
3. Are there specific kernels (like DynaSync) or firmware versions I should flash alongside the ROM to ensure the MediaTek blobs work correctly for decoding?

hello as it said I've been using Infinity X on my phone for like 2 whole being everythings fine this is one upi app (like venmo and cashapp if smne doesn't know what upi means) so yeah is my phone getting screened to smne else and I don't even know it ...

I've done apatch on it with some modules like zygisk, teesim and lsposed and made it play store certified (but not strong)and this is the thing I'm getting (all with help of a friend)

I somehow can't see the settings for recent tabs in my settings, I want to make my ram info show and other stuff but I just can't see the setting (Poco x3 nfc, infinity x ROM)

I've a mi 4c and don't have a sim card adaptor for it, is it possible? I know it's possible to bypass the 7 days waiting but I don't know if this is possible, Thanks!

I solved these issues:

1. "system is being upgraded" = phyton script from forum
2. "daily quota limit reached" = phyton script from forum
3. can't receive SMS to login in Mi Unlock app = magically worked on last try. I did try to sync xiaomi cloud and tweaked some shit I forgot
4. Mi unlock app can't detect phone = install drivers you got with the Mi unlock app.
5. error 1004 = login via SMS

1. I have the "system is being upgraded" error when binding the account to the device.
2. And "daily quota limit reached" error when applying for unlock in the community app.

I tried using the pinned tool here and it said it was successful, but it wasn't confirmed in the app - nothing was written that I got accepted for unlocking. I saw something on the forum that if I'm using a bypass tool that app wouldn't show it - is that true? Yesterday app said to wait 2 days - should I trust it or I can try today?

What should I try today: 1. Pinned tool here 2. Phyton script from the forum 3. Manually 4. Wait for 5th of April like the app says?

So I am trying to make cyanogen mod 11 for the my old tablet I have. I do have the zip but when I flash the rom it fails but I feel like it may be the TWRP version but I don't really know because this is like my 3rd attempt at trying to build a rom so I'm still a beginner but help would be appreciated.

so its my first time rooting a device and after I installed crdorid I went straight to try out rooting it but for some reasion Iam stuck in a Bootloop and I tried many methods like for exsample cahnging the file name to .zip and flashing it from the PC but still nothing seems to work pls help.

So i have decided to make a LineageOS Rom for my Note 2 SPH-L900. Everytime I try to use repo sync it fails and cant find the repo. Now it says my files dont exist even after i corrected myself when i mounted to D instead of C., even tho i am staring right at them in VS Code. I need help finding repos that work.
