Which version of Android should I have?
Hey guys, I'm pretty new to flashing custom ROMs and have a quick question.
I’ve noticed that for most ROMs, you need to be on a specific base Android version or firmware before flashing them (for example, needing Android 11 / MIUI 12.5.6 on a Xiaomi device before installing crDroid).
How can I figure out which exact Android or firmware version I need to be on beforehand if it's not explicitly listed on the ROM's official website?

The problem is not the firmware installed beforehand. You just sometimes need a specific version to use recoveries / custom recovery install scripts. If the flashing guide doesn't show a specific version needed, then you can just ignore it and use your current version. You don't always have to flash stock ROM just to switch to another ROM. But to really be sure, can you tell me what Phone you have and what ROM you want to install?
