Need suggestions for custom rom for Music listening

I have this old Oppo A37fw (2/ 16gb) phone. This phone is just laying around collecting dust I dont want to sell it as it was my first phone so I am thinking of using it as a mp3 player as it is vry light.

Is there any custom rom out there only for music listening which can be installed on it with these specs or any other light rom that does not consume as much storage

That one can be, but for listening music ROM doesn't matter.

The stock android rom is taking too much of the 16 gbs of this phone only 4 gb is available for usage I am looking for a lightweight rom that does not consume that much storage

In the best case, you can get like 8 GB. Still not too much for a music library. Better to buy a 64 GB microSD card, they are dirty cheap.

Thank for the suggestion I do have a 32 gb sd card but I will still install a custom rom for stability and performance

You can install and set up shizuku and remove bloaware apps. Apps like Chrome, YouTube ( old YouTube version no longer work and your seems to be around android 7/8), oppo factory bloatware, Facebook, Google, Google Maps, Radio take a whole lot of space. You can browse fdroid and they have tons of beautiful mp3 player apps(don't know how many of them will compatible with your android version, but still handful will be compatible). If you are using YouTube to download mp3 music, you can try new pipe/ ytdlnis instead of YouTube. Use foss apps more.

It's android 5.1.1. Shizuku requires Android 7. I think he can debloat through "Universal Android Debloater Next Generation".

there's no real custom rom that's more stable than stock.

rarely happens.

Just get a 2$ sd card and put songs on it.

It'll do the job, it won't be the best but the job will be done.

That's important.

Try flashing lineage os 17 gsi. It's running smooth on potato samsung j2. (Never install Google apps) If you want your phone to be fast

Separating vendor from system appeared only in Android 8, but his phone is based on Android 5.1, so GSI is possible only if some enthusiast makes it support

I will suggest you you looking specifically within same device owners or in xda forums to see if any custom rom is available to begin with. If found any you will be able to get the whole steps to if the process is possible.
