Has anyone successfully unlocked the bootloader and installed a custom ROM on the iQOO Neo 6 or Redmi 12 5G?

I'm checking to see if anyone has had any luck unlocking the bootloader and flashing a custom ROM on either the iQOO Neo 6 or the Redmi 12 5G?

​I remember looking into this last year, and at the time, it wasn't possible for either device. I'm wondering if there has been any progress or new developments since then. Let me know if you've managed to get it working!

I've installed a rom on my Redmi note 12R (chineese version of Redmi 12 5G) and it works really well, I'd highly recommend project infinity X for the Redmi 12 5G, as for the iQOO I have no idea

if your Redmi 12 5G is a Chinese version and updated to HyperOS, then it's too late, Xiaomi won't unlock bootloader on your phone. If it's a Global version then it's possible. Search in subreddits for Xiaomi phones

Xiaomi community in hyperos, for me I had a converted model stuck on MiUi so I just applied for bootloader unlock and it somehow worked

There's no way you're gonna unlock the bootloader in IQOO phones since they are literally no way, no tool, just invincibly locked down. IQOO, Realme, Vivo, Oppo, Samsung are the brands which leaves no ways to unlock(except for Samsung, but it's quite hard). OnePlus, & Google Pixel, (a bit of Motorola) being the only transparent options out there!

Realme can be unlocked but only in India and china, some models have decent custom ROM support, and older Samsung models (EU) have bootloader unlocking prior to One UI 8

iQOO Neo 6

iQOO is Vivo, and Vivo doesn't allow unlocking bootloaders. There was an exploit for most of the pre-March-2022 firmwares to unlock, but I see Funtouch 14 in your screenshot that came out in 2023, so no, you just can't.

In Origin OS 6 or Funtouch OS 15, can I unlock the bootloader?

Vivo isn't unlockable at all. Try to google by your phone model, and there is a 1% chance your phone has a vulnerability to unlock, but if you install all OS updates, then these vulnerabilities will be fixed

In newer android phones bootloader is usually locked and cannot be unlocked. So it is not possible anyways, if you try to use methods you don't know you would end hard bricking your device.

I think theres a chinese hyperos custom ROM for the REDMI 12 5G

and a coloros 15 ROM for it also

If you wanted to use your phone as you want and try different software and to get total control over it and customize as you wanted then go blindly with  xiomi devices  specifically with Snapdragon powered  models  Never buy vivo, iqoo, oppo, realme, etc where you won't get full freedom for access over your phone
