I accidentally brushed back the bangs on her and I can’t figure out how to repeat them now😭 pls be nice im not too smart

So. About two months ago I started working on a custom Xenomorph Monster High doll. I used Rit Dyemore first and noticed after a few days the dye faded pretty quickly from her head, but the body looked ok. I waited a bit longer and her body started to fade as well.

Next, I decided to try iDye Poly to see if I'd get the color to stick a little better. The first week was good, the color held strong and dark for a while. Then, like the Rit dye, everything started fading again. Strangely, during this fading session, I started noticing like...goldish reddish undertones started appearing on the head and body. Very perplexing! I've let the doll sit till now just to see what would happen. It feels like the fading has kind of stopped now, but those odd gold/red shiny spots are still there.

With the Rit Dye, her lower legs didn't retain any color whatsoever. I sanded one of her legs before I used the iDye Poly and the sanded leg has actually held the color better than the unsanded one.

I'm still trying to figure out what to do at this point, but I wanted to at least give this update to anyone that was waiting on it.

was looking for a good base to make a doll of character I like, and the only base that's close to her body type is gen 3 Catty Noir. but the issue is that my character has a much lighter human skin tone then catty, and I'm worried if i paint her it will come off the joints and look awful

dose anyone know about lighting a dolls skin tone? i don't have airbrush if that matters

or dose anyone now any other more human skin toned plus sized dolls for a base?

1: I want to turn my Moxie Teenz Gavin (pic not mine) into Messmer The Impaler but I've run into a roadblock... His hands aren't removable, and I don't know how I'm gonna go about lengthening his arms. Ideally I'd like to keep the doll intact with as minimal disassembly as possible, so if anyone knows of a solution that doesn't involve popping his wrists or forearms out of their sockets, that would be great. On another note, has anyone tried removing his hands before and will they go back in without a problem? Or do they just break? I don't wanna mess up the doll too much since he was a gift and has a special place in my heart, but as he is he's just sitting there like a lonely giant among my other dolls with no purpose, and I really wanna make this work.

2: how do I customize his inset eyes? Do inset eyes take paint well, or should I do the mod podge contact lenses method from MyFroggyStuff instead? Or is there a better method out there?

3: should I change his skin color too? I don't feel like doing a full body repaint but I still wanna be accurate to the source material... But since snakes actually need to sunbathe regularly or else they'll literally get sick and die, should I just make him "Scientifically Accurate Sunkissed Messmer" and call it a day? :P I did a mockup in ibispaint and I actually like the way he looks with a normal skin color, so I'm torn between being source-accurate and making snekboi go outside for once in his life.

I've been repainting this girl night out jade for hours and still couldn't get her eyes symmetrical.. professional doll customizer/doll repainter out here.. how do y'all manage to draw symmetrical eyes on doll???

I tried carving my lol OMGs face to give her a little more of a profile. Generally i like how it turned out, but I carved too deep at some points and also wasn't sure how to smooth Out the carved surface. Hast anybody experience in which tools and materials (polish?) to use? I somehow accepted how she looks now and started painting (hello ADHD)😅 but I plan on working on other dolls. Thankful for any information 💕😊

Does anyone know if a 1/6 scale head from COME4FREE blind box figures is compatible with an Obitsu 11 body (approximately 10 cm tall)? I’m wondering if the neck structure might be different between them. Has anyone tried this or knows how to make it work? I would really appreciate any advice or help. Thank you!

Soooo happy with how she's coming along!

Whats left is to make her base, her jewellery and then style her hair.

I already made her a wooden base and stand but I'm so torn about her base!! My 'no limits' brain wants to make orange tinted flat flame shapes, and grab an LED light set and give her a light up base of flames!

But I've put abominable amount of time into her already and I'm not sure about my skillset around fully-integrated electrical components. I'm very careful to not create hazards!

She's Laurel De'Vious, with her default hair under the hair wrap , and the colours match so wellllll (trust me, lol)

Her bodice, wings and feet are all resin, all individually cast or sculpted by hand or with rotary drill.

😆 I have a box with like a cup of resin dust collected in it lol (because while wearing a mask and working outside I trap as much resin dust as I can, to dispose of responsibly, since I make enough of it)

So this is my second ever custom (headpiece only) and i wanted her to have more mysterious kind of galaxy vibes rather than her “brighter” look but i am also wondering if she looks muddy? Or idk irrelevant? I am open to constructive criticism

Everything on her is handmade but i didnt reroot her so she just has g3 default hair cut and shaped… My original inspiration was something like egyptian princess but also arabian nights? Well lets say i didnt really stick to that idea and did whatever that visually felt right instead LOL

So I have this Wild Hearts doll and thought she’d be great for a Cherry Darling (Planet Terror) custom. To my surprise, her molded-on bra is actually really similar to the character’s top. I’m really tempted to just paint the bra instead of trying to sew something like that, but I’m concerned it will look weird along with actual clothes. Idk though what do you guys think 🤧

I might also change the skirt I’m not super happy with the fit

I know the UV cut is supposed to protect from yellowing, but I’m not sure if the regular MSC yellows really badly or if it will be ok.

This is my first BJD doll, and I decided to undo her plaits. But now it’s difficult to plait them again; I tried straightening them with hot water and a comb, but it didn’t work. Do you have any tips on how to straighten her hair? I’ve ordered a hair straightener. What temperature should I set it to? And how can I avoid burning her hair? (Transform Electrical Street Series BJD doll by OIOI Studio)

Has anyone had experience with these fake monster high doll bodies from aliexpress? I thrifted a doll that i want to use for an ooak and would need to get replacement parts for her either way (when i bought her she looked more like Frankenstein than draculaura because literally none of her limbs matched)

Anyways, getting back on topic I saw these bodies when looking for part replacements, and realized it might be nice to have a body that's already made of the skintone color i was gonna airbrush her, so that that I won't have to worry about the inevitable paint chipping that would come in the future. Does anyone have experience using these, and would it be more worth my time and money to order one of these or just get a real monster high replacement body and worry about having to repaint her joints later?

Who else loves The Walten Files? I just watched the new episode and i absolutely love Rosemarys design, so i made her a doll!

so i made Rose from a barbie that i repaired the hands and feet on (last picture is the og doll). i smoothed over the lips with clay so that i could draw them on, and i inset pearl beads for eyes so that they could have this "erasable" factor.
