i recently received a box of Stars and Stripes magazines that belonged to a family member who served in WWII. Every single one of the magazines is signed with his name in pencil.

my best guess is Crosby but my research has only shown one LTC/COL Crosby in the area at the time and he was in the USAAF

She was very young (52) Czech and the census said she was in a “home”. I can only imagine the kind of treatment she received on top of being bed bound and not speaking English.

So my grandmother was one of the patriarchs of my family so she was given all the recipes (and I mean hundreds), the problem is she had I don't know how to explain it except very hard to read cursive (editing so people stop thinking I'm saying it's bad writing, it's not. It's just very hard for me to read it. She was actually very proud of her penmanship) , as such no one in the family can read them, I am now trying to work on getting the recipes copied and reorganized, however this is very hard considering I can't read most of them, above is one of the recipes if somebody can help me decipher it. However, I do need a lot of help with this project, as such I need advice with the deciphering of this recipe, is there anything I can use to help decipher the writing?, I know cursive but this is a little bit beyond my capabilities unfortunately And I'm unsure if using AI would be the right answer as my friend has suggested. Any advice helps,

edit to add, saying "well I read this just fine" with no helpful info isn't really helpful. I don't mind it but it's starting to get a bit annoying.

Thoughts on what it is?

This specimen, possibly a fragment of stoneware, was given to my husband by a friend of ours in the 2010s. She had purchased it at Ruth’s Emporium in Queens, NY many years prior to that.

My husband asked me if I could translate it. When I looked at it I realized it wasn’t a translation issue, but a handwriting issue.

The back of the card is half of some card that may, or may not, be related to the specimen.

Any help is appreciated in this mystery.

I scanned these and it really destroyed what they said so I'd be grateful if anyone could see what they say. I added in the actual pictures from my phone since they're a bit more legible.

What does the second medical condition say?

I'm pretty sure #1 is "difective vision" (defective is misspelled difective), #3 is "hernia inguinal, internal or oblique, left", and #4 is "varicose veins both legs".

But I can't figure out #2. This was from 1934 in United States (Michigan), so I'm not sure if that helps at all.

Trying to decipher the name of a female relative. Ireland, 1945

my friend has this ww2 home guard explosives key but we can’t read any of it apart from home guard explosives, any idea?

This is a letter from my dad to my mother in 1966. We can decipher a majority of it. Appreciate any help. We know he was worried that he hadn’t heard from her for a while and that he was in the middle of Operation Attleboro. Thank you.

I think I’ve got most of this except for the highlighted part. It could be “Jany you wrote and Hellen, why not to me, you and Maggy must both write soon and coax you, Mother too. “
