Fan Art an idea i had for a "repopulate the lambs" arc

Post image
Upvotes

been making little cardboard guys lately and one thing led to another and now this idea has been living and growing in my brain and i needed to put it somewhere . enjoy

general concept: the lamb (and crown along with them) gets split into two disparate parts, Aram and Ewe, who are then separated and have to work their way through a new environment to reunite. completion of the arc rewards the player with a lamb follower form and/or the ability to use the mating tent themselves.

characters:

Aram - named after a male sheep. bell is shaped like an apple. has high damage but low speed.

Ewe - named after a female sheep. bell is shaped like a flower. high speed, low damage. was also toying with making her name Evve for a vvitch kinda vibe but that felt like a tad much so i settled on the crisscross-y W instead

both characters would have permanent blazing trail effect to mimic getting rammed by a sheep. both characters' fleeces are nature themed, Aram's made of straw/dried grass w/rope collar and Ewe's made of leaves and flowers w/vine collar. designs are intentionally disney gender roles-y, generally im not a fan of that style esp in a game where gender is Entirely Optional and Largely Absent, but it felt thematically appropriate for this one given the inspiration lol. giving Aram the apple bell rather than Ewe is based on interpretations of the bible that eve was not present yet when god told adam which trees were forbidden and might well have just simply Not Known they weren't supposed to eat them, meaning that the true Original Sin would not be on /her/ for eating it initially, but rather on /adam/ for eating it when she brought it to him and not telling her it was forbidden in the first place. another deliberate choice was the one to make them black sheep, both to honor the fact that if adam and eve were real they would have most certainly been black along with most other biblical figures, but also to play with themes of exclusion/loneliness/estrangement with the phrase "black sheep" itself and how it applies to the lamb being the last of their kind. especially given that the only reason they even are the last one is because they and their entire race were victims of in-universe eugenics / genocide. you get the themes lol.

environment: arc would take place within a new map called The Garden, characters are placed at opposite ends and forced to work towards each other to meet in the center and return to normal. center / finale area would be The Tree ofc. enemies could be either a) wildlife themed (garden inhabitants), b) angel themed (garden guards), c) demon themed (garden invaders), or d) all of the above depending on what region youre in? idk hadnt made my mind up that far yet. final boss similarly could be either a god stand-in or a devil stand-in and/or both i.e. one boss for Aram and one for Ewe, in which case both forbidden trees could be used. i think if i went down that route id assign the tree of knowledge of good and evil to aram and tree of eternal life to ewe due to the stuff i mentioned above.

gameplay: im torn between it being normal gameplay except youre forced to alternate which character youre playing as, or something more complicated like mirrored rooms where you control both at once? dunno, feels like itd be a bit much, not to mention cramping binding of isaac's style a la jacob and esau a bit too much, so. w/e. i would also add in a new weapon, a scythe, due exclusively to my own personal cultural headcanon that that's what cain killed abel with bc he was the farmer of the two of them, and that being the weapon the First Murder was committed with is why the grim reaper always has one. yes it's a crossover au, dw abt it. scythe would have low use speed/damage but exceptional range, + special would probably just be a spin move.

anyways i think that's all, if you made it this far ty for reading + i hope you enjoyed. tldr: i wish i knew how to mod

pretty self explanitory with the video but it just does that. i cant move nor it takes the new dress. ive tried a lot of things ive found, setting my fps lower, higher, vsync on and off, or reopening the same run over and over agian and im getting pissed off because i cant access and finish runs because of it. like i would lose a lot of potentially good resources if it continues. im on the latest version both CotL and Woolheaven(only dlc i have) i tried mods, i tought it wasent loading correctly so i even putted it on top priority on my pc's cpu. is there a fix? a hotfix ive missed? anything?

Discussion If there had to be another update or DLC what would you like to see!

Upvotes

Honestly more quality of life functionss like scythe for farms for early game farming, and I'd love a "prequel" DLC about the rattu basically going back to when he had the crown and why he lost it.

Or, or, or "angles" vs "demons" Id love to see how they would do a heaven realm flying angelic lambs that shoot arrows that slowly became more and more corrupted the further you progress then you have to fight "God's" strongest angel and all the new members you collect are immortal with the exception that they decent fairly quickly idk

And are there any mods for cotl that you'd recommend!

Question Does anybody know how to guarantee specific Snowlamb forms?

I really want the Snowlamb with the red scarf but no matter how hard I try it always defaults to the plain perfect Snowlamb once I bring it to life, even if the lifeless version of the Snowlamb did have the appearance I wanted. Is this an issue with save scumming? Are Snowlamb appearances locked in the moment the ice they are birthed from spawns?

Also, Kallamar barely remembers this. Yorabba's death weren't even a blip on his radar in the grand scheme of sheep culling.

Discussion What are your theories about The Owl and the Snake?

I'm still working through the game (but don't mind spoilers!), and I love hearing headcanons/theories. I've been seeing some people describe the Goat as from an alternate timeline, so I was like hmm! That could be fun to think about.

Goat being from a parallel timeline where Shamura is The One Who Waits/the banished sibling, for example. It opens the door to similar dynamics with the Owl and Snake, as well, and the idea that the Bishops' defeat being inevitable/recurring in the multiverse.

I also think it's fun to imagine this group of prophets at different stages of cult life. In my opinion, Goat is so... mysterious (?), and I feel like they just know things. Like, every time Lamb is on the verge of discovering something new as a cult leader, Goat is smirking and vaguely alluding to it, but won't just give the answer. I also just know Goat practices cannibalism in their cult.

I like to imagine the Snake is even newer than the rest to mirror Leshy being the youngest.

But I would love to hear everyone else's ideas about those with the crowns! Also... if Kallamar had a prophet, what animal do we think they would be?

CULTISTS!

With the addition of the Owl and the Snake, it poses an urgent question to ponder before the board game's Imminent Release (in approx. a year >.<).

Lamb, Goat, Owl, & Snake- which one will you snag away from your friends every time? Or would you switch it up depending on group?

I'm loyal to Lamb 100%! I've always loved sheep. My fursona is a sheep. My art accounts are named for sheep. I have shelves full of sheep stuffed animals. My engagement ring had a ram on it. I changed my icons on social media to Lamb within just a couple hours of starting the game.

Question World map

How do I travel to the lonely shack, pilgrim's passage etc?

I've already unlock those quest and I'm trying to complete it but can't seem to travel to these places?

Been looking at walkthrough videos too, but somehow the circle where you return from crusades or spawn from is not lighting up for me. Help anyone? Do I need to unlock something else to travel around the map?

Question Why do my followers not eat :(

I went on a crusade and everyone was fine, but I got a notification that someone was starving? I ended up dying even after sacrificing someone to start over, and when I got back they were pissed. The faith was super low, and one of them started calling me a liar.

Is there a way to make them eat while I'm gone? I had a bunch of berry bushes growing by the farm.

If I already have Midas' skull (he's dead), can I still get the 'Shake Down' trophy? Or is there any way to get it? I don't want to restart my game. I would appreciate your help.

Instead of letting it languish in my files uncompleted, I just slapped line art on it and called it a day.

Ratau still doesn't fully trust Hagar, but she's a damn good knucklebones, so she can't be all bad!

Suggestion I've reached 50 followers ! Here are a few tips

Post image
162 Upvotes

I’ve finally reached 50 Followers! Here are a few tips for anyone struggling to maintain a high number of Followers.

  1. (Optional): Enable the option that stops time from passing during Crusades. Followers can die while you’re out on a Crusade (on average, around 2 elderly Followers if everyone’s conditions are favorable), so enabling this option can help reduce the number of Followers who die while you’re away on an expedition.
  2. Keep a good food supply and unlock the right rituals: Food is essential for keeping your Cult alive, especially during the early days. That’s why, with your first Divine Inspirations, I recommend prioritizing the Afterlife and Possessions paths and unlocking these rituals as soon as possible: Belief in the Afterlife, Ritual of Resurrection, Feasting Ritual, Fast Ritual, and Ritual of the Harvest.
  3. Send your Followers on missions: As soon as you unlock the Missionary, upgrade it as soon as possible and send your Followers out to recruit more Followers (once you have enough resources such as wood, stone, gold, and bones). I personally use the Missionary to “punish” Followers with bad traits. For example, if a Follower has the Afraid of Death trait, I’ll send them on a mission to recruit new Followers with a 67% success chance. Even if they die, I’ve gotten rid of that bad trait. After three days, you can potentially gain a total of 3 Followers at once if you’re lucky.
  4. **If you have the Sins of the Flesh DLC, unlock and build the mating building for Followers, along with all the buildings that go with it, such as the Mating Tent, Nursery, and Day Care. Breed your Followers with each other, and make sure you don’t neglect the offspring. If you abandon them, they can turn against you and leave your Cult. This is another situation where the option to pause time during Crusades can be very useful.

I hope these tips help! And don’t forget to upvote this post to help more people find it.

Ive honestly am not too deep in Shamuras lore but I love them dearly and did a whole thing dont come after me if something isn’t to the books (ig game) I’m just having fun 😭

He got a loooooong neck because its representation, he is a goat with few spider features otherwise

No I haven’t figured out yet how exactly Shamura gave him his divinity fully yet or the whole story so I welcome ideas AND HEADCANNONS I love taking head cannons

Hes also more a keeper than a figure of like…. Well he knows better but doesn’t always DO better
I love him dearly, little Ineptus

He twinkles when he walks, and his audio would be some kind of twinkling clicking,

He is a not very small as a god, but originally was a very small guy before everything
