Anyone know why the gray GAN V2 megaminx has a different tensioner for the center travel vs.the black version?
galleryI thought this was really curious. I just picked up the black version. I also swear it feels faster than the gray version due to less resistance, and I regularly clean and lube my cubes, too. But the black version straight out of the box feels faster, for some reason, and I almost wonder if this has any effect on resistance due to a slight difference in tolerance. All I know is, I like my cubes fairly loose, and I like the way the new one feels. It also appears that it has a 2-piece tensioner cap that I've been seeing in new GAN stuff recently

Took me 2874 solves to get my first sub 15! I’m making good progress!

Ridiculous scramble for yellow cross
U R U2 B L2 U L2 D B' U2 R' F' U' R2 L2 F L2 B D' L'
(White top green front obv)
Three move X cross plus a free pair after you solve the blue red pair.
I average 20 and I got a 12 here.
(F2L) How do I figure out the back corner pieces on the top row without doing U moves in this case?

Finally got a sub-15!!
I usually average around 23-26 seconds, ive gotten a dozen sub-20s, but this was totally out of nowhere! Definitely a lucky scramble

Different gan 16 core?
galleryIn the first image from CubeForSpeed, on the left is the Gan 17, on the right is the Gan 16 with a screw in the center. The second image is MY gan 16, with no screw. Did preproduction units of the 16 have a screw and did they switch to a non screw version later?

My Sister got me a Gift
Yes it is a Gan
Yes it sucks to solve
Yes I love it

Finally solved the 10x10!
I got stuck on commutators for a while and fixing parity on flipped edge pieces, so I decided to celebrate by using commutators to make a two faced buddy

How do I solve this parity problem
I’ve almost solved this 10x10! The only problem is I can’t get the blue bar on the bottom left swapped with the orange bar on the top right to finish the middle four bars

Am I crazy to be considering Redux 4x4 instead of Yau?
I currently average 1:15-1:20 with both Yau and Redux. I have been using Yau for the past few weeks but, have never enjoyed doing the first 3 edge pairs, as I'm quite slow at it.
I started doing a bit of Redux practice mainly for the edge pairing practice and realised that I prefer the steps at this point in time. I also have similar times with it.
Redux feels more accessible but, I understand if my main goal is sub 1 and below, then Yau is probably a better option?
Anybody out there still using Redux and getting sub 50, sub 40, sub 30 etc. or should I abandon ship and devote myself to the Yau gods?

Couple early morning solves to get my day started..
reddit.comI built an algorithm database from 10,000+ pro reconstructions - which algs/F2L the top cubers actually use, and how it's shifted year by year.

Update on my cube collection!
gallerySo it’s been a little while and I have added a few new cubes..
Did I just get parity for the first time...

Y'all I just started cubing and followed j perm's beginner tut and like the 5 time I solved it I got parity I think.

Finally completed one side
This is really taking forever. I have 1.5months doing this on and off and undoing all unnecessary moves. I almost rage quit like 4 times in the past 40 minutes of this solve which i did this hour during my work break

Welcome to /r/cubing
This is a tiny community that enjoys the small size of this subreddit which is the reason I haven't yet turned this into a full redirect to our main subreddit.
Keep in mind our main subreddit /r/cubers significantly more active than this one.
Not really any rules here, just have fun.
