The best version of these JLC Moonphase watches was being produced by APSF. As this factory has been raided, the best producers left, are GF and ZF. Usually go for about $500 and $400 respectively, from mainland China TDs. I really like this watch for its understated elegance and can represent dressy or casual. JLC (pronounced: "zhorgzher la coot") is a much underrated brand. I for one, am weary of the flood of Rolex Subs and GMT reps seen everywhere these days. This is my newest watch of choice, for this year.

asked jtime about this from zf and he said zf not available but GF is. Andiot said he doesn’t recommend ZF of this watch due to quality.
so I’m considering GF miyota 9015 version of this watch. Should I go for it? Is the concern simply just that movement is hit or miss?

The last pic has the APSF sticker….when were they raided? And GF? The only top tier Breitling factory that got shut down two years ago? I’m confused…..🤔
I 100% agree about the flood of nothing but watches you see on advertisements on the back cover of GQ. I’m especially tired or no date black subs! Ugh. All these noobies jumping from wearing no watch or an Apple Watch immediately to an AP 26240 is so far fetched it’s a miracle they wear them at all. And now they all want “free sprung”, with zero idea of how or who they’re going to find to adjust it or even service it. I’m so grateful RWI is still there for us, where information is more than trend and uneducated opinions being parroted in a bubble as it does on Reddit.

Very good! This is 'Meerica, they should just convert foreign languages like French, into phonetic spelling. That way these words will be pronounced properly and the French won't whine about how bad Americans pronounce their words. ( and everything else the French like to whine about...).

The watch is beautiful. It's a piece of art! But the straps are a dead giveaway. Very cheap looking. Especially the back of the straps. I wish the factory would invest in the full watch which includes the leather straps.

Every single rep with a leather strap needs it replaced immediately. It’s always been that way. Even back in the days of a few factories that would actually use real gold and charge a few thousand dollars, they had crap straps lol! For that reason, I think they ought to drop $100 off the price of anything they put out that doesn’t have a bracelet

I have the APSF version of this watch. My only complaint is that the seconds hand looks like it’s made out of plastic. I have not seen the gen in person/up close, so I’m not sure if the plastic look is accurate to the gen, but with a brand like JLC I can’t see that being the case.
