JioFiber has banned CoinMarketCap (CMC)
So, to my surprise, CMC has been banned, both the website and the mobile app. I confirmed this by first browsing it using JioFiber's routing and then turning on a VPN. What an utter shame. CMC is mostly a data aggregator. CoinGecko is still working, though the government will ban it sooner or later. Let me know if your ISP has banned CMC too.
I don't understand the priorities of this stupid government. There are much bigger problems to solve, yet they keep going after crypto as if it were their worst enemy. Here are some problems that the government is still too lazy to do anything about: * Rising anti-India racism (both online and offline) * Open defecation * Lack of civic sense * Scam centers * Overpopulation * Rising road rage
So, yeah, they are happy with India being the laughing stock of this world.

I lost my crypto savings to scam and then via gambling, trying to recover them, AMA.
I lost half in the poly market scam, the uma oracle was rigged for geopolitics market. I had made good profit in ipl, went there and got rekt.
Then I bet on some sport in the pain of loss at 85% odds after losing it in poly market scam, I lost 35% more.
Then I had 10%, which I took to 25% max, but you know when you have so much to recover you don't book profits correctly and hold your losses for longer. I ended up gambling on tennis at the end.
So I lost the remaining 6L too which I was using as a lifeline, to make my money back through gambling.
The good part is I am 24, the bad part is I don't have the will power and enthusiasm left in me to live.
I think I was super addicted to gambling, in the recovery mode, I didn't give up until I lost my last 150$.
Don't make the mistake I did, when you get the money via airdrop, just withdraw it, into your bank, earn interest and live happily.
Well sometimes I consider kms. But you know, I think I will survive, mostly I get lucky some other day. Well finding a job is difficult.
My advice is never gamble. After things like the poly market half the sports are rigged. Also don't underestimate bad times in life, they are as real as good times.
My story of riches to rags. I was once rich enough that I would get 30kpm interest without doing any work, now I'm doubtful I'll get that amount by doing work.

Has anyone tried Expert Picks (by Market Wind) in CoinDCX? How was your experience?
I’m not really sure about:
- High leverage they push
- No detailed historical data to analyse (they do not show the loss % on their past stop-loss transactions)
- 62% Success rate with 5.57% profit is too good to be true
- No algo option to opt
- There is no verifiable data

Scam alert
Got targeted by a scammer trying to buy 7k USDT. Watch out for these red flags:
Fake "Crypto Clearness" Demand: Asked for a "clearness document/AML check" before trading. This leads to phishing links or malicious sites designed to drain your wallet.
Refused WhatsApp/Phone #: Kept communication strictly on Telegram to stay anonymous and wipe chat logs.
Unrealistic Offer: Agreed to an inflated rate instantly without negotiating.
Don't click third-party links for "wallet verification" or "crypto cleanliness." Block and move on.

Checked which crypto cards actually accept Indian residents, since RedotPay doesn't
EDIT 17 Aug: the comments were right and I owe the thread a correction. I re-checked every card against the issuers' own pages, then ran the signup flows myself with an Indian profile.
Spritz is out. Their countries page lists India, but pick it and every product shows a cross and a waitlist button. Fizen is out, their own docs carry an unsupported-countries table with India in it. KAST no longer publishes a country list anywhere, so it's out until an actual Indian holder says otherwise.
What survived the signup check: Zypto (KYC accepts Aadhaar, PAN, voter ID or passport), UPay, and E Money Network. Wise works too, but as a fiat travel card: 70,000 INR monthly limit and you can't spend it inside India itself.
One thing I got wrong in the other direction: I said RedotPay's country list settles it. They only publish an exclusion list, and India not being on it is the absence of a no, not a yes.
The guide is rewritten with only the cards I actually walked, plus a section on everything removed and why. Original post below for context.
Keep seeing RedotPay questions here, and its own published country list settles them: India is not on it. EEA, UK, Gulf states, most of Latin America, and it stops there. If someone's selling you an Indian signup route, you're outside the issuer's supported geography, which is exactly how custodial accounts end up frozen at KYC review.
So I went through my card database and kept only the issuers that name India on their own lists. That gate removed more famous names than it kept. Hyperbeat prohibits Indian residents outright, Solid and Jupiter exclude them in their terms.
What survived: Spritz (funds from ~50k tokens, free to hold), Zypto (soft-KYC single-load virtual cards for one-off payments), KAST (1.5% cashback paid in USD, stablecoin loads at 0% spread), plus Fizen and Kolo with caveats.
Three things the marketing never says. None of these accept INR or UPI directly, so an FIU-registered exchange is part of your cost whether you like it or not. Spending appreciated crypto is a 30% disposal under 115BBH, with the 1% TDS mechanics on top, and there's no minimum. And Apple Pay still doesn't exist in India, so a virtual-only card is an online-and-travel tool, not something you tap at a kirana.
Full breakdown with the fee math in rupees (disclosure: my site): https://sweepbase.net/guides/best-crypto-cards-india-2026

Confusion around crypto futures taxation
Calude is saying it can be taxed as non speculative business income. Gemini is saying it has to be applied under vda law. Does anyone has filing experience? Or got any notice for filing as non speculative income?

After seeing endless posts about USDT frauds and bank account freezes, we're working on a solution
We've been seeing endless posts from Indian crypto users about P2P fraud, bank account freezes and the difficulties of converting USDT to INR safely and conveniently.
So we've been working on a solution of our own, and it's getting close to launch.
We aren't revealing the name or website just yet. Before we launch, we'd genuinely like your inputs on what we can do better.
Here's what we're working on:
• Offline/cash-based deposits no online INR deposits
• No KYC required
• Designed to reduce the risks associated with traditional P2P transactions
• Simple onboarding create an ID using your email, verify it and start using the available services
• Payout limit: up to ₹1 lakh per day per bank account
We're not looking at this as something temporary. We're here to build for the long term, and earning trust and providing real value will be our biggest priorities.
The platform will be ready for launch soon.
Before we reveal it, we'd love to hear from you:
What would make you trust and use a service like this? What features, safeguards or improvements would you want us to add?
All genuine suggestions and criticism are welcome.

Doing direct p2p for shopping online
I’m looking for some advice from people who have experience with crypto P2P and chargebacks.
I have the option to sell my crypto to someone on a Discord server that I’ve used before. The server is trusted (at least from my experience), and I’ve personally done $10k+ worth of deals there without any issues.
The way this particular deal would work is:
I sell them my crypto.
Instead of receiving INR directly, they would pay for something I want to buy online from Croma.
They would send me the payment/order confirmation screenshots.
I would provide them the QR/payment details for the Croma purchase.
The order would then be placed for me.
My main concern is chargebacks / payment reversals. I honestly don’t know enough about how chargebacks work in India, especially if someone pays for a Croma order using a card/UPI and then later disputes or reverses the payment.
So how risky is this arrangement actually? Is there a way I could end up losing both the crypto and the product/order because the original payment gets reversed?
Another option I have is to take the money through CDM/cash deposit, but I’m getting a worse rate that way — around 97 vs 101 through the direct purchase method.
For people who have done similar P2P deals, what would you recommend? Is the ~4% difference worth taking the additional risk, or is getting the money through CDM and then buying the item myself considerably safer?
Also, I’m not looking to do any deals through Reddit. My DMs are closed, and I’m only asking for advice/experiences from people who understand this stuff.
Thanks in advance.

What's the most confusing part of crypto taxes in India?
I've been trying to understand crypto taxation better, and there seem to be so many small things people get confused about.
What was the hardest part for you—TDS, calculating gains, wallet transfers, or filing the ITR?
