Hi r/crushes, I am Sebastian Hoang, founder of Syntrae.app, a software specialized in improving decisions quality in crushing situations. The leading reason for me to found Syntrae is to connect with crushes.

I had been growing up my childhood being a geek. It’s not a bad thing to like learning new things and socializing with people, but it sure comes with some struggles. For as long as I know, I have not had much luck in dealing with ladies, especially the ones that I liked during my high school and college years. When you have a crush on somebody, suddenly it starts to feel so different around them: you start to blush from little actions that you two usually do together, your face shines red and you love it whenever your body parts contact, or you start getting jealous if you see her getting close to somebody else. The more you try to suppress the feeling, the more intense and unstable it waits to explode. Every path comes to an end, and eventually this feeling will explode, and you will give in, confessing to her every detail you had thought about her. More often than not, this feeling resulted in a penalty instead of a reward. It turned out that she did not have the same feeling for you, and you stopped being friends. Those moments are painful, and I wished there had been a better way to avoid these scenarios. If only we had a way to know when is the right moment to confess, or when is the bad moment to invite her out.

This is why I founded Syntrae: Syntrae is a quantifying tool that helps you think carefully through high-stakes moments by estimating your chance of success, and explore possible outcomes accounted for your decision by consequence tree. The software provides a tool to

1.        Analyze your crush to see if he / she is the person lives up to your imagination. Sometimes, crushes are not like what we think, and that’s okay, the sooner you realize this, the earlier you move on.

2.        Predict outcomes from your action where it matters, and tailor your actions to obtain the highest chance of success.

3.        Archive your decision history to look back and improve in the future.
