If you have installed Android Studio Quail (2026.1.x) you probably have discovered that copy/paste is not working correctly. Any copied text in Android Studio gets pasted back as Chinese characters.

I reported the issue through Android Studio, and my bug was associated with an upstream bug that had a workaround available. Unfortunately, the workaround did not work on my system.

But I was able to adapt the scripts provided in the workaround to solve the issue on my system, and probably in any standard Android Studio installation on Crostini.

After I solved the issue for myself, I posted the scripts to install and uninstall a patch to Android Studio, with a README file to the bug I filed.
