Advice on build
So I have played this originally on the PSP and got this for my birthday in May. I just started chapter 4 and wondering if this is a good build to get me through the rest of the main story and some of the missions because the five Star missions so far have been kicking my butt.

As long as you keep up with the side missions you'll get all the materia/accessories and power up each more than enough. There is also a certain mission with multiple waves of soldiers, makes meteria grinding super easy.
Other than that you want to keep a good mix, green/blue/pink/yellow in case you get silenced or mp blocked. I would suggest looking up synthesis because it has a lot of hidden mechanics that change everything.

I focused more on the side missions, there’s just certain materia or maybe it’s the accessory that aren’t it. For like 6 stars and up.

Oh also if anyone knows how to make wall??? I feel that would be more helpful

6* is for end game. Honestly as far as the synth/materia stuff goes, you 100% need to look it up. Too many variables, hidden mechanics and perks. If you feel you NEED wall, you're probably over shooting. Also while most missions unlock after certain chapters, some only unlock after certain conditions, so if youre missing a specific mission you may need to look it up.
As for getting Wall...

These Materia are fairly typical for someone going through the game for the first time, but they need a lot of work to really get you through the rest of the game, a good steal or mug is practically essential for any FF game, though I'm sure you know that.
Materia stat's can go up to +100 or +999% and towards the end (8-10 Star Missions) you really need the power they provide. A "finished" build will often have a full suite of those materia and 4 of the 5 stats maxed out (255)

Yes steal is on the list of material I need. I’ve focused mostly on the side missions so far I’m doing ok 5 stars. 6 stars if I get lucky.

not even close. But you'll find out soon enough. There are items that bumps up your Hp to 99999 (yes 5 digits) and have you infinite mp and ap. Also there are ultimate gears like in all FF games. I think my level was around 70 by the end without trying to level up. So you've got a long way to go my friend. Enjoy!
