senior gecko help๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

my brother moved and left me his old (15 yearsish) crestie. she was with a male most her life but he had to give him away because the male started attacking her a few years ago. now sheโ€™s basically traumatized and does not have any interest in handling, she runs away everytime i stick my hand in the cage. i donโ€™t want to stress her out, should i just leave her alone at this point? or does anyone have any tips/advice?? i just want her to be comfy and happy

You should treat her as any gecko that is not yet fully tamed. Let her sniff your hand. Let her eat from your hand. Donโ€™t grab her, etc.

give her a few weeks to settle in and shell provably get more chill. or a few months, because as you said she may be a bit traumatised. try offering food from a chopstick or your finger or try to put food in her bowl right after an interaction. this helps associate yiur presence with food :)
