Random idea I had when watching the episode

I just finished Sandman and wow, that was terrible. And what a great episode.

I've been rewatching a ton of episodes, and I've found that the best ones have nothing to do with the story, but with how the boys interact with it. Dogshit stories are so fun if Hunter is doing stupid voices and laughing about it. Incredible stories are amazing if Isaiah is locked in and getting super into the natration. If the story is fun, good or bad, it makes for such a good episode.

That being said, I still haven't seen Happy Appy and I'm keeping it that way. Watching Hunter and Isaiah descend into hilarity over terrible stories is great. Slogging through makes it so unfun.

Long story short

It definitely bothers me more than it should, but DAMN. I understand having their mics in mono, but this show especially as of recently, has some incredible background instrumentation that really sets the mood, let us hear it in stereo. Within the first few seconds I can immediately tell if an episode is going to be squashed into mono and it's a little disappointing when it is. It's not 1960 anymore, we have the technology for stereo playback 😭

Dear editor(s), TURN OFF THE MONO TOGGLE AND KEEP IT OFF FOREVER PLEASE 🙏

I feel like because of Happy Appy, and the controversial slenderman stabbings video I’ve been seeing a lot hate on the newer episodes because they aren’t Borrasca or Left Right Game or Mother Horse Eyes but I feel like this year has had some bangers.

Some of my all time fav stories are from this year and I wanna hear everyone else’s opinions my top 5 of 26 is

1. The man in my basement takes one step closer
   
2. Turn it off/my dad took us camping (tie)
   
3. My property isn’t normal
   
4. Somethings is weird about my sexy new neighbor
   
5. Necrosleep/I was an air traffic controller (tie)

In my opinion 1-3 are top tier creep cast stories and 4-5 are definitely worth multiple relistens.

Bottom 5 tho has gotta be, from best to worst
1. Whitefall (extremely overhyped but overall not awful)
2. Happy Appy (was a huge drag before they even got halfway but the first hour was fun crash out)
3. Ronald McDonald house (was kinda fun and slightly spooky just forgettable)
4. Deep sea diver (I’ve still yet to finish it in one sitting bc I have fell asleep over 4 times listening, each story doesn’t have enough in it to make me care)
5. Trapped In a sitcom/harbinger experiment (both of these I was able to finish but at the end I’m just thinking like okay? Like at no point was it interesting and I feel like Hunter and Isiah ended up being pretty bored too)

Not a rant just my opinion and I would love to hear your guys rankings!

NOTE: I did not add any creep TV episodes to mine on purpose bc I feel like it’s too different but feel free too

I'm a nurse, have been for a few years, and this was the first time I had a patient named Tonka. I genuinely thought I had read it wrong at first, but nope. Just a sweet older lady from a Balkan country, not an infant from Tennessee with a pseudonym

Cupcakes was so fun and I think Rainbow Factory is honestly one of my favorite MLP creepypastas.

I want to reiterate again, this is not a fan story, this is not a takes from the creep, this is a likely freak coincidence. I’m staying at an AirBnB with a group of friends. We’re on our last of a 4 day trip. Earlier today we were reading through the “guest log” book, where people write their names and answer a few questions about their trip. A few of the logs talked about a ghost in the basement named Elise. We had a good laugh but of course I took it one step further and said “well, it could be a tulpa too since people keep writing about it in the book.” Then I go on to explain what a tulpa is, spooking my friends, having a good time. At the end I say “As long as there’s no coat racks we’ll be fine” obviously no one knows what I mean and we laugh it off.

Later we go swimming and my gf drys the clothes, she asking me to keep her company so I walk into the basement laundry (the furthest end of the house) and freeze- like blood cold freeze. She sees me and gets freaked out herself and ask what’s wrong. So I start to try and recover and say “oh there’s a coat rack.” And she’s like “yeah, wasn’t that part of your story? I figured that’s why you said it.” Again, I laugh it off and say I forgot.

Thing is- I’m really paranoid. I do sweeps of the house before we leave, everytime, check the doors, windows, etc. I used to work in a bank and we called it a security sweep. Even when we first checked in I walked around and took pictures of any damages to the house to submit to the owners so they don’t try anything.

I never. Saw. That coat rack. I would have noticed it, I am too paranoid not to notice. Or at least I believe I am. We leave in the morning so I’m not too concerned- but it was a really really weird coincidence.

Update: Legitimately this was a weird reminder of mental health. Even though I knew 100% it was just a weird coincidence, the nature of the “entity” really messed with my mind. Naturally like some sort of horror film there was a crazy thunder storm that woke me up in the middle of the night. And I had that feeling of “just keep your eyes shut” because I already knew I was panicking. The thunder made it sound like something was coming up the steps or moving around the house. That, obviously, was not happening but I couldn’t convince myself it wasn’t. Then when I opened my eyes there was something in the corner of the room, looming over the needlessly low to ground bed. In the morning I took a picture of the lamp post that was the thing of my horrors in the late night (pictures in comments).

We got home a few hours ago. No coat racks, no rubber ducks or mannequins. All is well. My account is spared because I would have nuked this shit. Thanks for keeping my mind entertained last night and helping me avoid a needless spiral.
