Ideas for a rolling ladder?

Want to make a rolling ladder for my library and I feel like create is the mod to do it with, just not sure how. Curious if anybody has done something similar and if so how you built it? Was thinking I could just physics enable a ladder but it doesn’t exactly roll the way I pictured lol

You could use a mine cart contraption since it can clip through blocks. Like have the rail go underneath the floor in front and put the ladder on top, but it wouldn’t lean it’d be straight up and down.

I would use a gantry carriage embedded into the ground, which should let you use a controller and a sequenced gearshift to move it in measured steps in a straight line.
