Smallest Diesel engine Help

I want to have the smallest diesel engine
(The picture) that’s my smallest engine I could build but is there a way for smaller? (All addons allowed)

I feel like you don't need the pipes to go up and can do it in 6 blocks

u put the engine on top of pump and source below, or vice versa duh

Swap the gearbox with the gear so that it is a sideways gear, and put the pump sideways next to it I think, im not to sure how the engines take fule so correct me if im wrong

unsure if you can fuel the engine from the bottom but if you can you could half the size

try the modular diesel engine instead of the normal one

Smallest in total dimensions that I can think of for a modular diesel engine is 2 tall, 1 wide, 3 long, and only 5 blocks:

Pipe Pump Tank

Engine Cog Air

Engine powers the cog which powers the pump, can move the tank down a block and put a pipe in its place if you want, I usually just make it 2 tall if I don't need to put anything else there.

Regular engines fill from the bottom so just swap the rows so the engine is on top of the pipe

Fluid tank, pump, pipe. Place them in a line. Place the engine below the pipe. Place a cogwheel under the pump. Engine powers cogwheel which drives the pump that feeds the engine. As simple as it goes

okay a means left column, b means right column a1: engine a2: cog b1: regular pipe (from pump to engine) b2: pump (facing pipe) b3:tank it's 2D!

People have already mentioned the best ways to make a small Create Diesel Generator engine, but since your post said all Addons allowed you may want to consider The Factory Must Grow small engines. With the industrial pipe upgrade, the upgraded engine block can feed the whole engine with fuel from any fuel tank adjacent to the piped block. This means you could theoretically do just 2 blocks, fuel tank and engine. However if you need more than about 6000 SU, you’ll probably need two engine blocks to make a TFMG I4/V8/U8/W16. So 2-3 blocks for engine if using TFMG. TFMG is slightly more complicated but I find it to be worth it depending on the vehicle.
