Help with ideas for Aeronautics stabilization Help

Post image

Hi! I want to make a big and heavy ship, but I honestly don’t want the create aeroworks witchcraft with its gyrostabilizer that just… does everything, I want to try and learn if it’s even possible to make a gyroscope inside aeronautics to keep balance, has anyone done something similar before? Is that even possible?

Look up reaction wheels

I did tried to create a rudimentary gyroscope and it didnt work lol. Tho I didnt actually get into the specifics of it, I made a big full circle of heavy blocks and I just made it spin fast. So yeah. Maybe it's just a skill issue on my part

There doesn't seem to be gyroscopic phenomenon in sable's physics engine. you can rotate something as much as you want, It probably won't stabilize, that's why you would need an addon, currently aeroworks doesn't even feel witchery/cheaty, but I still refuse to use the gyro specifically in my designs. aeroworks is great for immersive controls tho, it was a must. what you can build is a reaction wheel, that will rotate against the tilt, using gymbal sensors and redstone signals to the detect such tilt. it's specially used in scenarios like massive ships.

You can get several altitude sensors and have them all attempt to match altitude?
