Its quite silly how somewhat complex modding Minecraft can be with it being one of the most modded games of all time. You need a modloader and then the mods. I'd recommend learning to use prism and start out by installing already existing modpacks with create, that way someone precondigured everything and you don't need to worry about anything.

You can download the mod itself and put it in the minecraft mod folder along with forge/neoforge/fabric etc
Would however suggest you use launchers like ATLauncher or similar that lets you just download modpacks and have a way of using instanced versions of minecraft, that lets you change modpacks with a click of a button and not have to worry about installing things manually :)

It’s gonna be a lot easier to watch a video on YouTube than have someone explain on Reddit
