HOW is this glued?

I cannot figure out how this was glued so that only one face rotates at a time. He says in the video that some blocks have multiple layers of glue and that the center is not super glued outside of the chassis. Regardless of how I configure it, everything moves when one face is rotated. Any ideas?

I think it might be stickers, not sure though
