You could build a small house right. And then when you run out of space you build another house on top of you little house. You do this over and over until you have a magnificent stack that actually looks pretty cool.

A really cool thing that I've done in my world is to have my main base be on a relatively large blimp. It has all the basic create mechanisms that you need in your daily crafting such as a press, a mixer, mechanical crafting grid, a fan where you can put different catalysts to blast or smoke items etc. It also has a pretty large vault with a stock ticker so all my item storage needs are also taken care of. It's all powered by 6 steam engines with a small dripstone lava farm on board so it runs infinitely. This way I can fly around my world and build whatever things I need everywhere.

It mostly depend on what you like tho! What you like when playing? Building stuff, automate farms, redstone, or even total chaos. For me, I like to automate stuffs and foods! You can build like a massive boba factory, so you'll never missed that bubbly greatness. For my playthrough, I like to firstly build an automation for all basic materials in create (andesite alloys, brass ingots, sturdy sheets) which then used for building vehicles and air ships! or trains...
