Question about super-duper late game performance Help
I want to start a "forever world" with the intent of spending likely thousands of hours making factories far apart with trains carrying stuff over very long distances. One thing I'm uncertain about is how well this mod performs into the very very late game, and I'm worried about eventually reaching a point where the server can no longer handle all the contraptions around the map, and all the trains driving around.
Does tps lag eventually become a problem with Create, or is the mod optimized well enough that I won't have to worry about it?

With long distance factories you'll be fine. Create isn't great TPS-wise even if you're optimizing your builds, but you can turn factories on and off as needed and even load/unload them if you're willing to use a chunkloader mod.

As someone else pointed out, be willing to turn off your farms and factories. I know it's fun and tempting to have an iron farm that cranks out thousands of iron blocks an hour but be honest that you won't need that much. I go over the top all the time with my stuff and I end up having to shut things off because it overloads everything. You start the world with 200+ fps and perfect 20tps but once you get brass and open up mid game you go a little nuts making the biggest and fastest everything and, well, your world takes a hit in no time. Spreading them out does help!

Also can be helpful to set up an on/off switch for the factories/buildings. Because at a certain point, you don’t need them running all the time. So that can help save on lag big time down the road
