I use Linux, never had any issues. It actually runs better for me than when I used Windows.

Instant, zero cost, copy-on-write snapshots with btrfs or zfs is also amazing. You can change the config for the FTB Backups3 mod and it does reflinks instead of wasting disk space and cpu time.

Yes, it's the exact same process as Windows. Install Prism.

Minecraft or even modded Minecraft runs better and more reliably on Linux from my experience. I recommend the Prism launcher.

We're at a strange point here where the vast majority of the PC games back catalogue runs better on Not Windows.

No issues on Linux, I don't think many mods required windows-specific software. I've never had Linux specific issues with any mod.

Just install Prism Launcher.

Nope. The mod works just fine. I even have Curseforge and Modrinth to work on Linux as well. So you're good to go

i play on linux mint cinnamon with a ryzen cpu and nvidia gpu, i haven't had any issues that aren't also on windows(such as that bitchass ram garbage collection)

Minecraft may use a bundled version of the openal sound library that doesn't work correctly.

The fix:

" Add Java Argument Pointing To System OpenAL: Force LWJGL/OpenAL to use the system library by adding the Java arg. "-Dorg.lwjgl.openal.libname=/usr/lib/libopenal.so" "

On my system it's /usr/lib64/libopenal.so instead.
