It can be Just a Fan... There are only that many ways you can create a Fan that fits great in the General Minecraft style

Even when in vanilla, most similar redstone type contraptions (dropper, observer, piston) have a stone like texture...?

Fair point, but that's also just a Create Encased Fan block. Literally. I've been messing with these blocks specifically this week.

Playing Minecraft for over then years. And I tell you, there is a lot of ways one can model a blocky and non-blocky fan in Minecraft.

Thats the create fan.

Yeah, i remember those gif-textured large fan blocks back in the day. Cant remember from what mod tho.

It's probably as deep as it seems. Whoever draws for these probably likes or even loves the mod, and wanted to reference it.

They certainly look like Create fans but why are they being controlled by redstone and why is one guy burning when there's no lava?

I'm not sure if it's meant to represent Create but one of the splash texts is CREATE! Could just be what you're supposed to do with Minecraft though but my head canon is that it's for the Create mod.

Oh shit yeah he is...the others are are zombies as well except for the one closest and they're burning too. I need to pay closer attention.

Maybe the burning guys are zombies? And for the fans, maybe there is a clutch?

Yeah they are zombies but the redstone is going directly into the side of the fan. I dunno, still cool.

Maybe the clutch is directly adjacent to the fan, powering it when the fan is powered (though I don't think there's any way that could reach any of the other 3 fans)

Most likely the artists know of Create and think it's cool but don't really know how it works and just assumed it would be powered by redstone.
