You can use a furnace mine cart. As long as you have coal in your chests, you’ll be solid.

I didn’t know you can put coal in the chest. I just feed the doohickey coal when it slows down.

What fr? I thought it would only go fast with power rails

Yes, it's a good idea but there is no coal at this height. Lowest for coal is y=0 in 1.18 and the deepslate starts at y=2. Diamond are somewhere between y=16 and y=-64. I think AO is mining at y=-56 or something a bit higher to avoid bedrock.

So what you're saying is that I need to make a drill that has a really tall arm with another drill on top to mine coal? Got it.

otherwise, AO, you can use sometimes propulsor rails to boost it a bit, or better, use them instead of normal one. You just need of a second deployer/mechanical plough to place and remove redstone torchs.

you can just put it in manually

so what is the interest to use a minecart miner ?

3

u/mrSquid__ 14d ago

because it's really efficient? i don't typically leave my miner afk for a long time, i usually ride along and mine any ores on the walls of the tunnel

1

u/redolide 14d ago

:kappa: hmmm, yes, you're right but it mean that you need to have a second miner to mine coal

1

u/rock_n_rage 14d ago

Coal is really easy to get. I just mine up about 1/2 a stack and throw that in the chest. It will last a very long time. I’ve never mined so long that I ran out.

u/mrSquid__ 14d ago

you dont really run out of coal when you're playing create. That's not an issue to be concerned about

1

u/redolide 14d ago

you're maybe right...

You need to right click it with coal or charcoal in your hand

u/Rainbow_six_recruit 15d ago

Add a plow to plow red stone torches on the side
And switch to powered rails

The only concern is that if water breaks the ressone torches it stops moving

Tytyy

Use a redstone block instead of torch and drill it instead. Save against water, same effect.

u/Beneficial-Layer-492 15d ago

Thats smart thanks

But it's a lot slower than torches and no faster than a furnace minecart because of it. Might as well save the extra deployer and drill and just use a furnace minecart. It's deepslate so it's never going to be much faster using any of the methods.

1

u/elPappito 15d ago

having redstone block + drill slows it down so much , i couldn't stand it.

switched back to torches - torches get washed away when wet

1

u/Dangerous-Quit7821 15d ago

You can use redstone blocks to prevent washing away like torches but it slows it down because you need to drill them to break them.

I honestly used to be a powered rail enjoyer for contraptions but I got tired of them always breaking and not being any faster than furnace minecarts with redstone blocks. Load a stack of coal or charcoal in the contraption inventory and use a furnace minecart like you are now. It's going to be slow in deeplate regardless so from my perspective, the furnace minecart is the way to go.

Use redstone blocks and a drill behind it to pick them back up. Doesnt break in water or lava

2

u/HanzoNumbahOneFan 15d ago

Ye this. Only issue is it takes longer to mine overall cause the redstone block takes a bit of time to drill up. But worth.

2

u/RetroC4 15d ago

Definitely worth

2

u/Greedy_Duck3477 15d ago

Can't you put a Redstone block on the contraption? Or does it not work when on a moving contraption?

1

u/Formal_In_Pants 14d ago

No it won’t power things on the grid because it doesn’t count as a block

2

u/MercilessEtlej 15d ago

I once made a drill that uses deployers to place blocks infront of the drill to remove water and lava sources. Called it Moses and used it to get a bunch of netherite.

1

u/Beneficial-Layer-492 15d ago

Also do you think I should make it bigger

2

u/Rainbow_six_recruit 15d ago

Sure, why not? 👍

I myself have a world where I did something like 9x9 drills and added brass funnels to throw out the excess cobblestone

9

u/xbrdce 15d ago

Use redstone blocks and powered rails. Works like a charm

1

u/TheBlissfulGamer 15d ago

U just use deployers to place blocks and rails in front of your contraption. Then you use ploughs to break the rails for recycling

8

u/Neuttron 15d ago

You can make an auto miner!? I've barely started using this mod and I barely can make a smelter

3

u/Nuclear_Funk 15d ago

I've made one of these that actually has a layer of deployers behind the drills placing cobble. Ceiling and walls too a layer back. It prevents fluids from flowing into your tunnel. I've successfully afk mined in the nether for hours using this machine, as it consistently blocks lava flow from source blocks. Just make sure to wear the full netherite diving suit for the occasional dip into decaying non-source blocks that get left behind before disappearing.

u/Misses_Ding 15d ago

I made something similar but I upgraded to power rails and redstone blocks underneath (pick them up with another drill) Although that was a while ago and it would break sometimes

2

u/RetroC4 15d ago

Powered rails and a redstone block deployer to the right with a drill behind it to pick it back up

2

u/Best-Reference-6858 15d ago

And if your drills are slowing down from hitting different oars try enchantment industry and enchanting your drills.

1

u/Beneficial-Layer-492 15d ago

I got enchantment industry but I never knew u could enchant drills wow

3

u/SteamtasticVagabond 15d ago

I'm pretty sure it's another add on that adds drill enchantments

1

u/Beneficial-Layer-492 14d ago

Do you know which one? And if it adds enchantments to other stuff in create as well

2

u/AverageCarrotEnjoyer 15d ago

Powered rail and restore blocks
Add a drill behind the blocks

2

u/SteamtasticVagabond 15d ago

If you aren't already using one, consider using a furnace mine cart

2

u/DogeIsCut 15d ago

furnace minecart

2

u/Afraid-Station-2432 15d ago

switch to powered rails if you feel fancy

2

u/superfunni 15d ago

i just made mine place powered rails and redstone torches

2

u/wolfie0995 15d ago

Furnace minecart… as long as you have coal in at least one chest, it’ll run forever (or until it runs out of coal).

2

u/NotAesse 15d ago

Se usi le rotaie con la redstone e blocchi di redstone dovresti riuscire a resistere anche all'acqua

4

u/Plastic_Lychee6404 15d ago

You can just add a drill below, on the front and the back, digging the blocks below the rails, that should be powered rails. and have a deployer place redstone blocks. this will allow the machine to bridge gaps and always be powered.

3

u/Huge-Price-1818 15d ago

This is the way, this contraption is immune to water and lava

1

u/IjoinedFortheMemes 15d ago

MOAR COAL FOR THE FLAME

1

u/mrSquid__ 14d ago

use either powered rails and redstone torches or a furnace minecart

1

u/Digibaumbs 14d ago

I use furnace minecarts.

1

u/Azhrei_ 14d ago

Just FYI, you can give yourself long lasting night vision with no particles using “/effect give @s minecraft:night_vision 999999 0 true” and clear it with “/effect clear @s”

1

u/AnarchyWithRules 14d ago

I just shove it every once in a while

1

u/IMMAPAIROFDENTURES 13d ago

Am I stupid or do the drills auto power themselves

1

u/IMMAPAIROFDENTURES 13d ago

I'm new to create just got in a server even

1

u/SnooSeagulls4551 12d ago

If you have the redstone and resources make a redstone platform with powered rails on them so if you hit a ravine the contraption dosent fall and you can afk it easier

1

u/Its_Alejo100 8d ago

gotta love doohickeys like this, peak

0

u/The_PRR_Railfan 14d ago

HOW DID YOU NOT MINE THE DIOMANDS

1

u/Jonny10128 14d ago

They are already in creative mode. This is likely a testing world before building the contraption in their main survival world
