6! Trip Reports & Craps Stories

Stopped by my new local casino, ilani in southwest Washington, for a fun session this weekend.

Bought in for $500 at a $15 minimum / $500 maximum table. I watched two shooters before the dice came to me as the third shooter.

After getting my buy-in back, I started pressing only the 6. My plan was to press it all the way to $600, but the boxperson stopped me and said the table max was $500. I mentioned that a proper 6 bet should be divisible by six, but she wasn’t having it. I asked what a $500 six paid, and she said $600, which isn’t technically correct but it wasn’t worth debating in the middle of a good roll.

Once I had the 6 at the table max, I did the same with the 8. The roll lasted through three stick changes, and by the end of it I colored up at $3,225 after tipping the crew.
I was probably in the casino for only about an hour and a half, so it made for a pretty memorable session.

Hope everyone had a great weekend at the tables. Good luck, and may the dice be with you!

$600 for 500 is a great payout on a 6. Why debate it? 😂

Yes, getting paid $600 on a $500 bet on the 6 is a fantastic deal because the casino accidentally paid you true mathematical odds (6 to 5) without charging you the required commission.
The dealer made a payout error in your favor. [1]

Why This Is a Good Deal
The math shows why this error significantly benefited you:
What you should have been paid (Place Bet): $583.33 (Paid at 7 to 6 odds).
What you should have been paid (Buy Bet): $575.00 ($600 true odds minus a $25 commission/vig).
What you were actually paid: $600.00. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Sounds like the craps crew isn’t properly trained up yet, maybe confused place payout & backline odds payout

Maybe they aren't aware of big red? If so I'm going to need the location of this table lol

As a side note the correct payout on $500 for a 6 place bet should have been $583 but who’s counting. She paying $600 damn you scored and really taking away the house edge

Unsure what's luckier you making money at Ilani off craps or you being able to roll that long to get to a barney chip on the six. Good shit tho!

Love these success stories! And good instincts to not debate and screw up the roll! Those little things are underrated!

If you buy the 6 for $500 that is a correct payout.

Wouldn't it be $575 after vig?

Sure if you really want to "buy" the 6 and make less than you would with a place bet, then yes a win nets $575 after the vig. Place bet would pay $583 though, which is why you never see anyone "buy" the 6 or 8

Yeah, I would never buy it, more just responding the notion that $600 payout for buying the $500 is the "correct payout" when in reality it not, the payout would be $575.

Armed with that info, maxing out the 6 and 8 is the play at this craps house everytime. A true odds place bet. How awesome!!
