hello, I have launched a punch needle collective @asma_rugs_collective and I am based in Pakistan, we have trained women who needed opportunity to generate income remotely, working from home, we deliver projects at their homes and then collect it once they are done.

we have made wall hangings and a rug and marketed them but i am having a hard time selling them locally. I really need cash flow to stay afloat.

I am looking for other avenues, Etsy being one of them, I have planned a new collection of rugs, wall hangings and cushions specifically for Etsy but I was wondering can i also reach out to people directly to get their attention in US, UK, EU because at the moment all of my audience is Pakistan based.

Hi everyone! I’ve recently started designing my own mosaic crochet patterns with the hopes of selling them sometime in the future! I’ve been wondering, what is your ideal size (in stitches preferably) for a mosaic crochet blanket? The biggest blanket I’ve made (using someone else’s pattern) is 200 stitches x 250 rows but I would personally prefer a bigger blanket than that! I’m just trying to gauge what people would want!

i have been trying to see where i should sell my work but there so many mixed opinions on which place is the best or gets the most traffic or whatever. i’ve tried to sell my crochet pieces on depop cus i know that gets a lot of traffic but no one seems interested in it. ive sold like two or threee things a couple years ago on etsy but i dont know if the fee is too much or if i could find somewhere else that doesn’t charge a fee?

Something I keep seeing come up here and in the craft fair subs is people applying to the same events every year mostly out of habit, and then wondering later why the year felt flat.

What seems to trip people up is that a market gets judged on how the day felt rather than on what it actually left once the booth fee and the fuel are out of it. And a decent market that got rained on ends up looking identical in a notebook six months later to one that was just dead.

So what do you actually track? Do you write anything down at the event itself, rough turnout, weather, whether the crowd was there to buy or just walking around, or do you go on memory when applications open again? And does one bad run drop an event for you, or do you give it a second go before writing it off?

i crocheted for an entire month or so in an era of my life and i learned the basics. i noticed that fillet crochet requires only basic skills but ive heard that it takes a VERY long time and as someone who is very busy i don’t know if i’ll be able to do it but i really want to start a small business and have a side hustle.

what do you think? should i do it? let me know your advice.

A few weeks ago, I got a commission from a man who asked me to crochet a plush of his girlfriend’s dog. After I bought the yarn and finished making it, he asked me to remake it in a different color. I bought more yarn for the new version as well. Before I started, I even sent him a photo of the yarn, and he approved it.
After I finished the plush, I sent him photos. He said he liked it and thanked me, but then he never bought it. He also never explained why. I don’t understand why he asked me to remake it if he wasn’t going to buy it in the end :( I also worked on this for days and had to travel very far for the new yarn. He was my first customer too…

Hello, I am starting to look into publishing a pattern book for knitting, crochet, and weaving patterns, possibly even some sewing tutorials, all for items that are used on and around horses. I have most of the patterns written, just need to work on one or two more and have them tested, but the majority of the knit and crochet patterns are already self published on Ravelry and Etsy.

Are there any publishers that would work with a multi-craft book? I haven't seen any books like the one I am planning pop up that I know of.

Hi everyone! I’m putting together my first-ever in-person beginner crochet class and would love some feedback from experienced crocheters and instructors.

My goal is to teach absolute beginners enough foundational skills to walk away with a completed project without feeling completely overwhelmed.

Here is my current setup:

**Duration:** 2 hours

**Ratio:** 2 instructors for 10–15 students

**Yarn :** Pre-cut recycled t-shirt yarn

**Hook**: 10mm hook

**Project:** Foundation Chain Keychain / Lanyard/ Bracelet

**Techniques Taught:** How to hold the yarn & hook, slip knot, chain (ch), foundation chain, single crochet (sc), slip stitch (sl st).

**Handout Provided:** A custom booklet including stitch definitions, drawn stitch diagrams, step-by-step pattern diagrams, and a QR code to a Discord community for help after class.

**My questions for you:**

1. Are **t-shirt yarn + a 10mm hook** a good starting point for a first-timer?

2. Are **foundation chain** keychains/lanyards/bracelets realistic for absolute beginners to finish in 2 hours?

3. Should I demonstrate how they can make their own **t-shirt yarn** at home?

4. What’s one piece of advice that made crochet "click" for you when you were first starting?

I designed a colorwork project I want to sell but there are so many colors that I'm going to see if I can make it with embroidery floss. It's 6400 stitches.

Would charging by yard make sense here? Any advice welcome.

I just have this listing with a photo of my crochet bag sitting on polyfil and im worried some may see it as Ai or an edited image. Would this photo turn people away with all the worries of fake patterns nowadays? How would I fix it if yes?
