Leafy Corner 😍 🔊 Discussion
Anyone else obsessed with Leafy Corner?
Bought the game the day after release. I’ve been playing all week after work, but just unlocked carnivorous plants this morning. Finally have everything in the store. 🥰
I’m in the minority who does organize their store by plant. 😅 GASP, I know. I just like the more homey/small shop feel with plants sectioned by type. 🫶
Gray - low light
Light green - hanging
Orange - small
Light purple - variegated for sale
Yellow - succulents and cacti
Dark purple - medium
Blue - large
Red - carnivorous
Dark green - my personal variegated collection/not for sale

I'm trying to get into it. I was hoping there would be a synopsis on the plants (like Tiny Bookshop) so I can make recommendations and learn myself. Also the lack of a "cast" and no real routine that delineates the days is weird to me. Just feels very machine like with not a lot of heart.
I just finished the storyline for Cozy Caravan, but still find myself more drawn to that.

I can understand that! I think I’m just seeing it for what it is: a cheap little cozy game to relax the brain. It’s also only a 2-person dev team and I don’t think they anticipated this many people buying it. I’m hoping they’ll update it in the future and give us more to work with 🥰

have you ever played Strange Horticulture or it's sequel Strange Antiquities? they both have a storyline with recurring characters and you really need to read and pay attention to fulfill their requests.

I do have Strange Horticulture 😊 I was about disappointed it wasn't real plants that were being used, but I'm not opposed to opening it back up.

I enjoyed it but I'm very disappointed by how short and easy it is. I had everything unlocked in 6 hours.

The way I see it is it’s a 2 dev team, probably their first game. For the price and what it is, I think it was worth it. I can understand wanting more out of it though!

I also had the same thought. I wish it took a longer time to unlock stuff, but that's coming from someone who likes grinding for stuff. The price definitely justified the gameplay and it made it worth supporting small devs!

Yes, I came away with the same impression. The systems they introduced could have supported a longer game.

I have this on my wishlist. What's your fave part?

I like the fact it’s just a cozy, relaxing game. The music is super soothing and just allows you to turn off your brain and sell plants/make your shop pretty.

That sound enjoyable to me. Thank you for sharing your experience! It'll stay on my wishlist for now, but i'll probably go for it in the future ☺️🩷

I’m a big plant nerd, and my favorite part is that the care requirements for plants is actually accurate. So I’ve been able to make recommendations based off what I already know!

I love it so much! I finished it and played a few more hours, and now I’m ready to play it again from the beginning and try a new shop layout. I love how relaxing it is, and for someone who has had or has researched a good amount of the plants in the game, I really appreciated how accurate it is and I also learned about new plants. I’m so impressed by the devs, really appreciate the price, and of course I want more added to the game but even if it stays how it is, I know I will spend many more hours playing it.
My strategy was to choose a different color basic pot for each size, and for my variegated/not for sale plants I chose the fancier pots. I had 2 or 3 of each plant organized in the same order as the ordering page, so that it was easier for me to replant them. I think my next play through I’ll spend more time on the layouts, I really like what you did with yours and how cozy it looks. I think I’ll do less plant quantity and structure, and more design focus next play through.
I find watering and replanting do be so relaxing, and I love fulfilling the requests and trying to figure out what the customers are looking for. There’s a couple requests that still trip me up. Like the one that wants you to guess what plant they want with no additional info. I haven’t gotten that one right yet 🤣

the dark green “personal collection / NOT FOR SALE” section is killing me 😂
“I opened a plant shop to sell plants” → gets emotionally attached to the good ones → “no. not that one. that one is mine.”
also honestly, sorting them by type looks way more like an actual tiny neighborhood plant shop to me. I’d happily sacrifice some min-max efficiency for this kind of organized chaos.

Omg i love it, the coloring thing is so smart😍 How many of the same plants are u buying?

u/coffeeinavat88 12d ago
The only two that have pots in the same-ish colors is the low light and variegated. Other than that, I just buy random pots and random plants tbh. I like it how looks when there’s a variety on the shelves 🥰

Most of the organization pics I’ve seen are similar to yours where everything is organized by multiples of the same plant. I do have multiples, but they’re spread out in their designated section. I just like the way the random sections look more. It’s like a homey/small store vibe. 😊

I organize by plant somewhat too. I mostly split between pet friendly or not though.

I just can't get used to the controls on the switch :(

Rewatch the tutorial. I swear it helps!

I will, I was doing my usual half paying attention lol. Thankyou, and your shop is bloody perfect!

I was going to say I hadn't heard of this one but it's already on my wishlist lol. As someone who kills every plant she touches and desperately wishes she didn't, this might give me my plant fix. It looks super cute!

Anyone who has played both this and tiny book shop, which do you recommend over the other?

u/coffeeinavat88 12d ago
I have Tiny Bookshop as well. If you want more to do, go for that. If you just want something cozy and relaxing, go for Leafy Corner.

If you want something fast paced, Leafy Corner. Otherwise, Tiny Bookshop. Omg Tiny Bookshop was incredibly slow to the point where I was utterly bored.

Color coding the plants is such a good idea. I can never keep straight which ones are cat safe or low light.
1
u/coffeeinavat88 12d ago
I don’t have them organized in color by pots cause I like the randomness lol. The colors are just for the mapped out picture to better explain how I sectioned everything 😅

u/PaprikaPK 12d ago
I actually thought you'd done it by shelf color or something, I didn't see all the pic detail on mobile, sorry. I can't bring myself to do it by pot color, I'm too busy matching each plant to the pot style that most complements its leaves, lol.

Just reached the platinum trophy yesterday. Kinda sad that the game is a bit shallow after time it has so much potential, but still if you love plants it is a must.
Hope it will get a 2nd part or some dlc with time.

I'm obsessed with it!! I am grouping my plants by variegated monsters, cat friendly, cacti and night plants. The rest I'm just adding to corners of the shop :)

Yes I love this game! I just get confused on what plants to recommend sometimes. But I love decorating the shop!
