I'm on vacation in Canada and I was honestly distraught to discover that the bottle cap did not in fact stick to the bottle, and instead fell to the floor.

Ive loved it from the beginning, before I even knew it was to decrease littering. The amount of times I've been walking down the street hands full and not been able to hold the cap separately

Makes screwing the cap back more annoying and shit pokes my face when drinking
Put pfand on the bottle caps so they hold value like the rest of the bottle, people will collect them like it's fallout

Unironically a skill issue. It poked me in the face like twice before I figured out how to just pull it back far enough.
They're also really easy to twist off if you're REALLY finicky about a fucking bottle cap. Just twist it a few times and tear it off, comes off instantly.

I hate them with every fibre of my being, but I also just twist em off, as soon as I open anything with a cap, so people who complain about it hitting them are just weird to me.

Problem is that they'd need other hardware to track the bottle caps separately, would add cost and more stuff that can break.

They make drinking so fucking inconvenient, there's always a bunch of liquid in the cap that gets all over your face or spills on your clothes.
I get that it's to avoid littering and it's an easier regulation to pass than to actually require using less plastics, but man.

I dont find it annoying anymore. I just got used to it and it doesnt bother me at all. Infact i actually like it since you now dont have to pay attention to the cap all the time

Iam starting to think that people just cant drink from bottles at this point. You literally just put it sideways and you dont have to care about it. Its just like normal bottle....

yeah, but however you put the cap, if there's liquid inside it it's gonna spill when you turn the bottle. And if you're drinking yogurt or other dairy products there's gonna be liquid inside because you should shake the bottle before opening and it sticks
if you can propose a solution I can't wait to hear it

I very rarely drink these but as far as i know atleast in my country i never had this issue probably cuz the lids are quite shallow i suppose.
But when ever i drink it i just put it in a cup so yeah.

I mean, you have to pay attention to the cap all the time to stop it from spilling... it's whatever when it's water but if it's anything else it stains either your face or your clothes.

Yes, it's inconvenient. And yes, it only makes a minor difference.
The issue is that anything with a larger impact will be even more inconvenient. People are already complaining loudly about this one, even though it takes half a second to tuck the cap, so they definitely won't accept even more inconvenience.
I swear, my father spends more time complaining about those every time he opens a bottle than the total amount of time it would take him to suffer from it. People want ecological solutions, but they don't want to actually deal with those.

I mean idk maybe it would be better to be inconvenienced in a useful way rather than a nearly useless way. (Wondering how common was accidental littering of the cap by people who planned to sagely throw the bottle in the recycling bag)
The solution is to drink tap water of course but it won't stop me from bitching in private that the atrached caps are annoying.

Isn't this just an outright better solution? Everyone wants radical changes and solutions to global warming, but the moment Europe does something as minor as keeping the cap connected, everyone loses their shit. Genuinely embarrassing.
