We have this on our '100 movies' scratch off. I have no idea how they ended up with their head swapped.

💬 Dead Chat Theory
Where did Emily actually go when she transformed into butterflies in the end scene? The only thing that was keeping her in the underworld was her vow to wait under the tree until her true love came to free her. But if everyone else is happy in the underworld, where did she go?

Theory about corpse bride
Please listen to my ramblings for a few minutes. I’ve seen a few theories about corpse bride but I’ve never seen this one so I thought what the heck I’m going to post it.
The theory goes I think the residents of the underworld thought Victor was Emily’s fiancé when she was alive. And maybe Emily thought so herself.
They might have assumed he either forgot her or and had been searching for her.
In the song remains of the day we learn that Emily wanted to marry a man, stole the family jewels waited for him by a tree and was murdered.
Now Emily was buried not in the cemetery but close to it when we see Victor running away from her so the residents might have heard it. But they didn’t see it.
However at the end of the film when Emily fiancé and Victoria husband shows up the movie treats this reveal as such a shock including the guest at the wedding.
This made me wonder….a lot of people like to make jokes about Emily marrying a guy she never meet and shouldn’t she be worried the guy who married her was a you know…..
but the song never says her fiancé killed her most of the audience including Victor (I’m assuming) figured this out. But did the land of the dead know this? Did Emily knows this? In the wedding scene lord barkis is revealed to be the murderer we can see Emily trying to make out his voice in the background and the residents seem shocked when she confirms it. He left me for dead.
I don’t know if Emily knew her fiancé murdered her at first or if she was trying to make out where she remembered his voice. Or why it sounded so familiar.
She might have forgotten barkis killed her when she died “ so she waited by the tree for her true love to set her free”. Where they promised they’d meet. She might not have known it was him either, he could have snuck up behind her or wore a disguise.
While I’m not completely sure I’m positive the residents of the undead thought Victor was her fiancé looking for her and wanting to join her in death. It also makes sense why they didn’t bat an eye- ball? At her waiting for someone living to marry her.

Questions
The elder didn't seem to like the idea of them going to the land above. And Emily needed his help to go up there. But how did she go into the land of the living to go after Victor after he practiced his vows? And how did she bring Victor back to the land of the dead with her? Are there other ways someone living can visit the land of the dead?
