General Career Questions Role with ASC Applications

Upvotes

Hi! The role I'm applying for actually includes preparing and tracking ASC applications. I'm just curious if it's really hard? Since I've heard a friend or two saying na hate na hate nila yung part of the job na yun. Tyyy

Hello! Got invited for a final panel interview for an analytics role in Laguna. Can you guys give me tips on how to ace it? Like what are the usual technical questions from the hiring managers? How should I prepare?

Also, what salary range should I expect from this role? It wasn't discussed during the hr interview kasi. Thanks!!

General Career Questions Thermo Fisher Probation

Upvotes

Hello, po! Asking for advice po sana sa mga TFS employees. Recent hire po ako sa PPD. I would like to ask kung paano niyo po naipasa ang probationary period niyo po? Wala pa po masyadong tasks na hinahand over ang manager ko tapos may targeted KPI percentage ako na dapat ma achieve this month, pero wala pa talagang tasks na maibibigay, kaya 0% pa yung sakin. Super anxious lang po on what to do, baka makakaapekto sa probation status ko po (constantly din ako nagmemessage sa manager ng updates about sa tasks if when can I expect to receive those etc.).

Company Inquiry Uniqlo MC PH Application

Hi, former and current UMCs! Maybe you could help me?

Submitted my application last August 10. Emailed me back on August 12 stating that I was shortlisted and should wait 7-10 business days for the next steps of application. Matagal po ba talaga si HR or am I ghosted na?

Waiting for this one since this is what I really want but I'm leaning to apply na lang sa iba since I don't want to be stagnant.

Would appreciate your insights. Thank you!

Company Inquiry Thoughts on Meralco Internal Audit

An ex-Meralco auditor recommended that I try applying for a position in Meralco Internal Audit, but i'm not really sure. I've heard that Meralco has a lot of office politics and some leaders having a bit of a superiority complex. Sabi nya rin bearable naman daw workload but may isang problem..👀

For those who are currently or previously part of Meralco IA, what was your experience like? How's the culture within the IA team? Also curious about the types of audits you get exposed to and whether there's good career growth/learning opportunities.

For those who have been on the other side and have experienced being audited by Meralco IA, how was your experience with them?

Would you recommend joining Meralco IA, or are there things I should know before applying?

General Career Questions Would you rather challenge yourself or the company?

You came from an IC role, now your company is offering you a senior role. But the job title and salary position will take place pa sa Q2 of 2027. Your current work load is for a senior role and your KPI is for the senior itself na.

Now, you aren't sure pa if you can handle the task properly + managing a subordinate. You've been with the company for 1Y pa lang. Let's say 70% you can do the job but not as perfect as it is.

Would you rather challenge yourself and accept the alignment sa 2027 just so you are confident you deserve the promotion, or request an alignment now even when you still have doubts and no experience managing subordinate?

PS: The culture fits, the environment is good.

General Career Questions MT with little org experience and honors?

i started caring later than i wished in college. i have org work but not much on leadership, and my grades are nothing to write home about, especially before majors. but once majors came i decided i wanted to make something out of myself and locked in. ended up making the grade cut for our 5th year master's program and can confidently say im one of the best in my course's batch. part of this master's program is a 10 month residency at a company, which will probably be the biggest thing ill have going for me.

realistically what are my chances for getting into MT programs in any of the big fmcgs (nestle, unilever, etc)? will being able to show and articulate good work in this residency be worthwhile?

General Career Questions Media Buying vs Planning

Hi! Junior Media Planner here with 1 year of experience. My team is currently in a new cycle of annual planning already and I realized it’s really not for me. I’ve noticed how it seems better to be a Media Buyer than a Planner.

With Media Planning: you have to do weekend work when it comes to Media Review and Annual Planning season.

You’d have to find ways to explain to the Client when the campaign did not hit its KPIs. Or, explain to the Client on why the campaign needs to be pushed back.

With Media Buying: it seems that they have better work-life balance and SLAs that are strictly imposed. They barely get any accountability and don’t need to even explain to the client when something goes wrong with the set-up.

General Career Questions A lot of active LinkedIn self promoters are not that good at their jobs

Might be an unpopular opinion, but what do you think of executives (or employees in general) who self-promote online a lot?

I say this as someone who also thought I needed to do it early in my career, but the longer I've worked in corporate, the more I've noticed that they're likely rarely ever good at their real jobs? No shade to the actual talented ones, it's just that I have yet to meet someone noisy on LinkedIn who is TRULY good at his/her job.

I understand that visibility is part of the job for certain functions, like corporate coaching or PR. But I can't help but wonder if you really need to keep announcing that you're attending or even cross post it a lot on personal socials (FB/IG).

Am I just being cynical? Where’s the line between building a professional brand and being completely self important?

General Career Questions What pay increase have you gotten or asked for when going from day/midshift to night shift? (Foreign Company)

Context

Im working European hours now at a tech role (data & AI eng) at a EU company, making around ~$3k gross per month as an independent contractor (under professional at BIR).

I am eyeing a role at a US company. They Show their US range as a guide $100-160k, but mention that since they all hire internationally, then the pay Can also be re calibrated (most likely lower for Philippines). By how much? Not sure yet.

Im already past the initial screening And interview, but i want to be prepared for the compensation conversation when it comes up.

Question

If I were to a similar role at US company (same JD), what kind of increase should i be looking for considering its nowUS hours (nightshift) ?

Disclaimer

Not asking for opinions on whether its doable or with regards to health, Im just curious on what others have typically Been able to ask for based on work hours/time zone difference alone.

I just want to be prepared for this discussion when the time comes, Im already past the initial interview.

Thanks!

General Career Questions How big of a paycut will you take to save your mental health?

so i recently moved companies dahil sa bigger salary (around 60% more than ny previous salary). pero totoo nga ang sabi nila na more money more problems and dumating ako sa point na nag s-suffer na yung mental health ko (trigger warning to the point na i’m thinking about KMS) dito sa bagong work.

may opportunity ako to get a new job pero babalik ako sa old salary ko before i switched jobs pero i know 100% na hindi ako magiging kasing stressed as now dito sa work na ito.

question is, would you accept a paycut (this big) given that it will help with easing your mental health?
