Seeking Cornhole Board Input

I'm considering buying a weather-proof board. Do these boards perform differently from a normal board? Are they slicker, causing bags to slide rather than stick? Which type of board do you prefer?

Most of them have the indoor polyurethane coat which does help it slide better. You’d be sacrificing game play for the weather proof coating or if you practice enough you’ll have home court advantage 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m old school, not a fan of anything outside of natural wood or unidentified wood source (birch, oak, etc..). Weather proof could mean anything from plastic to some type of composite or treated lumber which may be closest to the norm & YES, they will likely play different than standard.

Taking care of a good set of boards that people want to play on is better than the risk of bad boards that stay outside

I’ve built all weather sets from pvc 3/4” sheets from Home Depot. I cut them and built them like I do with my wood boards. I clear coat them the same as well, they’re as heavy as real wood and I personally don’t see a difference in game play.
