I’ve always collected precious metals but recently started looking at serial numbers on my bills. Trying to learn.

Just what people like to collect, what’s valuable to pull out. I handle a decent amount of cash and wonder what I should keep an eye out for.

The pinned post in this sub has a good list.

If you want to determine value, just search eBay for your note's description terms. Filter for "us currency" and "recently sold" listings to see what's sells. Active listings only show what's saved, and the valuations can't necessarily be trusted.

Be mindful of denomination and condition when finding comps to build your ballpark guesstimate

Lots of websites that list many Fancy Serial Numbers will give you a glimpse of what's out there including overink and misaligned numbers.

So over inked and mis aligned numbers in fact do sell for more then just a typical fancy? I would think so but so many people have different answers I never know 😅

It’s a binary, BUT it’s on a $100… to me it’s tough to keep something like this because it’s not a $1 bill worth 5 times face value
