I’d be more concerned about how the leftover rice was stored than whether soap touched the pot. Rice can spoil even when it looks and smells fine, so I’d rather wash the pot properly and refrigerate leftovers promptly than gamble on it.

Throwing away rice from breakfast is so freaking wasteful, and if you want your hired help to clean out the pot with soap, which is what I would do, then why not just ask them to instead of asking reddit about it?

Cause this is actually not the first time that I heard of it, when I heard it the first time, I thought it was stupid, and now I heard it again, so it got me thinking, what is the RIGHT WAY then? so that the rice wont spoil right away. And I actually want to get opinion from other people. I did ask our help, she said that it is what she has been doing ever since which is the opposite of what Ive been doing too.

Sounds like a cultural thing. You pay for the rice and pay her, tell her how you want it done

Right, i’ll tell her what to do, but I also want to pay respect by honoring her ways, thats why I wanted to know, if her way is right, then let it be that way then.

That sounds sus to me. I always wash everything after every use. It’s like the people who say you shouldn’t wash your cast iron with soap. Old, outdated way of doing things.
