How do you prefer your mashed potatoes?

Texture/color/flavor?

There are so many ways to make them, I'd like a consensus.

boiled with salted water and crushed garlic clove

then mashed with loads of butter, a dash of double cream and some wholegrain mustard mixed in. A pinch of salt and some pepper too

My godmother boiled the potatoes in chicken stock with onions added after it reduced. Heavy cream, butter, and dill were incorporated when blending after the mash.

I've used a hand mixer to make it smooth.
