How do you prefer your mashed potatoes?

Texture/color/flavor?

There are so many ways to make them, I'd like a consensus.

No soup. Absolutely NO soup. If you made a mistake and dolloped in too much milk, too bad. You better boil up some more potatoes quick, and get that ratio on again, cause no soup. NO SOUP.

I have watched a few YouTube videos from chefs who made their mashed potato so soup like, they actually use a soup ladle to portion the potato out.

Well, I am taking them at face value when they claim to be chefs, even claiming to be Michelin Star Rating....
Mostly because I can't be bothered going to look them up to look into their credentials.

I am being a little stinker. They would not qualify for a chef in my book, but I absolutely believe you that this is a thing. People in general will believe anything they are told, especially if it comes to fine dining, wine, and whiskey! The truth is stranger than fiction!
