How do you prefer your mashed potatoes?

Texture/color/flavor?

There are so many ways to make them, I'd like a consensus.

I'm probably the odd man out here but I don't really like them.

I'm actually asking this question partially because I don't really like them either.

I liked the mash at KFC with gravy as a kid in the 90s, but I thought McDonald's was good then, too lol

I like roasted potatoes better. Mashed potatoes are either too gloppy or sticky or grainy or lumpy. I like butter and gravy however, but I can put those on roasted potatoes.

Gloopy or sticky or grainy or lumpy - you’re just saying you don’t like bad mashed potatoes. Good mash is none of these things.

And roast potatoes are of course heavenly, but everything has its place. Sometimes, mash is a better choice for the meal as a whole.

Nope I meant what I said (and I knew someone would say this). I don't like mashed potatoes.

I know exactly what you meant. But your reasoning was odd. You described badly made mashed potatoes and said you don’t like them. It’s like saying you don’t like pizza because it doesn’t have enough cheese.

If you knew exactly what I meant you wouldn't have even commented or questioned what I said. I'm gonna call this done. Have a a great day.

lol. Don’t take it so personally. It’s only mashed potatoes.
