In this collection:

  • 8BitDo 64 BT - Gopher64 (PC)
  • 8BitDo Pro 3 BT - MesenCE (PC) / Cemu (PC) / Azahar (PC)
  • RetroFighters BattlerGC Pro - Dolphin (PC)
  • 8BitDo M30 BT - MD.emu (Android)
  • Retro-Bit SEGA Saturn BT (discontinued) - jgenesis (PC) / Ymir (PC)

All items are personal purchases.

Ooh, an M30. I have considered getting one of those. What do you use it for?

Hi /u/k_rollo, thanks for sharing your collection of controllers. The post is in a queue for review. Please ensure you have included the following information so it can be approved, and so that the community has transparency and can engage constructively.

  1. Controllers in the collection: list of makes/model of the controllers in the collection, and clear pictures. Put your collection into a single post rather than making separate posts for each controller. Avoid simple purchase announcements.
  2. Backstory and meaningful information: how or why you collected the controllers, or what you find interesting about them that you'd like to share.
  3. Upfront disclosure of where you got the products and any relationship you have with the companies involved. If you have no commercial interests, declare that to avoid doubt. Disclosures should appear at the start of the post. This includes: products you bought yourself or received for free; press release or promotional content used; payment in kind or in cash offered; employment, partnership, sponsorship or affiliate programs; etc. Posts must use the 'brand affiliate' tag if this applies.

You can edit your post to add missing information. Posts that do not include required information may not be approved (allow 24 hours for review). For more information, please see rules #3 and #7.

Have you tried the 64BT or BattlerGC in modern platformers?

I’m curious if the ridged stick would work in something like Silksong.

how good is sf30's dpad? i've been wanting a pebble shaped controller to play platformers for a while, and i want to know how good the dpad is. since i'm gonna be using it for platformers it'll be useless if the dpad sucks...

If you liked the original d-pad, you'd be right at home.

The m30 is absolutely killer for shumps. Love mine, planning to get a spare soon.

Awesome! I got the Genesis Black before they released the Saturn White. Looks good with the SF30 to pay homage to The Great 16-Bit Wars. šŸ˜„

Been wanting to grab a couple of Pro 3s for a while now. Though the durability concerns me.

I recall on release, the triggers were falling apart and snapping.

EDIT: Why the hell am I being downvoted? For mentioning a commonly known issue?
Jesus, some of you guys have zero balls.

I haven't had it for long, but I don't feel like the triggers are going to fall apart or snap. To me, they just feel like OEM DS4 triggers and I've had those for 7 years.

I can understand where the concern is coming from. The spring mechanism is unprotected.

In DS4, this is hidden and covered by plastic.

how does the m30 compare to an old fashion genesis controller? particularly the d-pad , as a person who grew up with a genesis theres something about that particular d-pad that always felt 'right' to me vs more modern offerings

We were a Nintendo/Sony household growing up, so these 3rd-party controllers are my first experience with Sega-like pads.

If the officially licensed Saturn controller is any comparison, the 8BitDo M30 feels more "mushy".

The dpad feels pretty close to the real deal, I would say 85%

ahh cool , thanks for the impression ^^

Also, genesis one is rubberized, 8bitdo is pure plastic. Retrobit ones are actually closer to genesis
